Although Lenox is a US company, these glasses are made in Austria. They resonate well when spinning your finger on the thin rim. Definitely not machine washable.

Lenox is a mystery to me...

1) they make really tacky ceramic china
2) they make excellent glassware

but here is the deal...

1) unlike spiegelau (a division of reidel since reidel bought it recently), there are no distortions in the glass or seams along the stem which are a sign of machine made or poor handmade quality. The reviewer above me states that her/his lot of glasses has a seam. I learned that Lenox has several quality control levels in its distribution. The higher quality seamless glasses are sent to direct customers, premium houses and Amazon. Seamed glasses of the same model are sent to Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Crate and Barrel. (as explained by the Macy's Serramonte, CA manager when I asked why the balloon glasses they carried had the seam)

2) the white house (yes presidents for the last 5 decades) have all used LENOX glassware (if it's good enough for the commander in chief ....)

3) lenox is one of the oldest and most respected glassware houses in the US.

I LOVE THESE GLASSES! MY GUESTS ALL THINK THAT THEY ARE REIDEL, and wHEN I EXPLAIN WHO LENOX IS >... WELL LETS JUST SAY THERE ARE MANY CONVERTS.

A BARGAIN FOR SUCH SUPERIOR QUALITY THAT I AM HESITANT TO POST THIS FEARING DEMAND WILL HEIGHTEN AND PRICES WILL RISE....

I had 12 of these on my wedding registry. 3 boxes were shipped, and one of them had a broken glass. I returned that one, and got a replacement. It is too bad that the shipping is so bad for these, because it brings down the average rating. But, no exaggeration, they are the most beautiful wine glasses I have ever seen or used. They also don't feel as fragile as my old wine glasses. I love them SO much.

The shape of the bowl is beautiful and the weight is very nice, but there are 2 thick seams along the stem that really bother me. We received them as wedding gifts from directly from Amazon based off the good reviews and now I'm thinking of returning them. I'm not very knowledgeable about wine glasses but you can feel the stem when you hold the glasses. This is true for all of the Lenox Tuscany glasses: the chardonnay glass, the red wine glass and the champagne flutes.

The weight, feel and visual look of the Lenox Tuscany crystal is wonderful. It adds an elegant sophistication to dinner. The part you hold (stem) is longer and more slender than other wine glasses. They are truly beautiful.

I think it is unfortunate that several folks are rating this product based on the shipper (Amazon) instead of the merit of the actual product.

As the previous reviewers indicated, these glasses arrived shattered. I didn't even have to open the box. It sounded like wind chimes inside. I re-ordered (based on Amazon's policy of paying the return shipping when they mess something up), but I am not holding out much hope. I'll update this post when the new glasses arrive.

Update: I left positive feedback via a new review, which has not been posted. It's been about a week. Anyway, the new glasses arrived intact and are beautiful. I want to upgrade the star rating, but I don't see how to do that on an update. Perhaps Amazon will post my other review later...

These glasses are lovely but they are not the glasses I thought I was ordering. I needed the next larger balloon size to match 2 I already have but nowhere in the description did they state the size of the glass. The descriptions should include dimensions so I could have picked the right match of two Lenox balloon choices.

The delivery was excellent and the glasses came quickly.

Well, I should have listened to previous reviews, glasses arrived shattered. I would imagine that they WERE very nice. My full refund with return shipping was given. When will Amazon learn, that in order to ship fragile wine glasses they MUST be properly packaged. Thank you Amazon for easy return.I am giving 2 stars due to easy return.

I ordered these wine glasses for father's birthday gift.
First of all, it took more than a week for them to ship it
which is totally late for birthday!!!!
But more upsetting part was that when dad recieves the packages,
Every single glass was broken!! it was a joke!
Can amazon or whoever packs this product give some thoughts
about what they are doing??? what they are thinking??
This is one of the terrible experience in purchasing on line.

This was a disappointment. My mother ordered these glasses as a gift for me on December 4th. I did not receive them until January 5th (well after Christmas) and what I received was a joke. All the glasses were obliterated. I would hope that my experience was an anomaly, but the glasses were packaged so poorly I cannot believe that others aren't receiving anything but shards also. From the remains, they look like they could be nice glasses. I hope Amazon is more forthright about replacing them than they have been with my mother about the shipping delays. She was told twice that I would receive the 'glasses' before Christmas and was told that I received them 3 days before I actually did. Poor experience all together.

Update: I did receive the second shipment and all glasses were intact. The glasses are very nice, however I would not buy them through Amazon.
