Both of my dogs ignored the ultrasound completely. They were however curious about the audible warning sound. I am not sure the ultrasound worked at all.

Every time I ride I get chased by dogs because I ride a recumbent trike. The Silent button with the ultrasonic sound is less effective than the other button that makes the continual irritating noise. The dogs do pause which gives me an opportunity to cycle away, but on a few occasions they have continued to pursue - especially the smaller dogs. Generally it works though. I wish they would make it smaller so attach more conveniently to the bike and also that it would stop the dogs dead in their tracks once the button is pushed. All in all it has actually been very helpful.

Overall, the Dog-Off has mostly done the trick to ward off scary dogs so in that sense I am pleased with the product. However, I chose this product over others because it also had an alarm on it but I now wish I hadn't. I carry the Dog-Off around in my bag and inevitably something will end up pressing the alarm button (there's no off-switch) and the alarm will go off in my bag and then I have to hunt around for it and turn it off which can be quite embarrassing! Also, the flashlight isn't very bright.

The product does not seem to work.. the dogs still bark when I press the button.. the alarm button is pretty loud.. it's great to use as an alarm.. the flash light is not really bright.. But I got this item for the ultrasound for dogs.. but it doesn't seem to work too well...

Never thought that this would be so effective. I have three Maltese that are extreme barkers. If they can't find anything outside to bark at, they bark in each other's faces. The very first time I used the Bark-off, they stopped to listen. They did not appear to be suffering or in any kind of discomfort. It continues to be effective and when they hear the signal, they stop right away. I paired the signal with "stop" and now just the word "stop" will generally work. I tried one that I got from Walmart for about $10 a while ago and it did nothing. This product works great and I have been using it now for several months.

The first problem I have is that the Emergency Alarm for personal protection should not be on a unit for animal control. The very first thing that happened? My wife hit the wrong button and scared all of us half to death. The other, bigger, problem is the unit isnt powerful enough. It barely works on our dogs and to keep it effective for "barely" we have to use it way more sparingly than we could have imagined thus making it useless most of the time in trying to train our dogs into not barking so much at random sounds. Given the knowledge, based on experience now, I would have tried one of their other products, hoping it was more powerful.
