This review is from: Leo Strauss and His Legacy: A Bibliography (Paperback)
John Murley's gigantic (935 pages!) is a comprehensive bibliography of the writings of Leo Strauss, as well as of the literature, both American and European, that had accrued on Strauss as of 2005. The book is nearly perfect, providing a clear, easily readable list of materials. Those already interested in and knowledgeable concerning Strauss will be impressed by Murley's care and comprehensiveness. The book should easily become the standard such reference on Strauss and the scholarship he and his work have engendered. Its size means it will not sit readily on some bookshelves, and it would make an excellent doorstop. However, it's intended purpose is a noble one, and all who are interested in Strauss should welcome it, recommending to libraries that it be purchased as a reference.
