5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, August 24, 1998

The best soundtrack I've ever bought, Eric Serra at his best on overwhelming classical oriented soundscapes that are the best part of the movie itself!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average movie soundtrack, not by a long shot..., January 8, 2001
This review is from: Leon (Audio CD)
Where do I start? Here's where: if you haven't yet seen LEON (or The Professional as it's known in the US), then go see it. In my opinion the film is a masterpiece, and that is down, in no small part, to the amazing score, composed by Eric Serra. That film had a profound effect on me, and the masterful writing of the music touched somewhere deep inside me. From the first few seconds of LEON, "A bird in New York" flows over your senses, immediately immersing you in an entirely different experience-it's one of those things that can't be properly conveyed in words, but that those of you who appreciate the film and the music for what they truly are, will understand what I'm talking about.

Tracks such as "Noon", and the bonus "Hey Little Angel", bring back all the emotions that the film made me feel. And let me tell you that no film, and no score, has ever made me feel like this before, ever.

Serra manages to successfully blend many different influences of music. From the very Gallic sounding "Tony the IBM", to the Middle-Eastern undertones that feature in "A Bird in New York", he has it all, and this soundtrack shows off his talent. If someone was to force me to make a gripe about this CD, it would be that the film's other 2 tracks, one by Sting, and one by Bjork, don't feature on this score. But they can be purchased seperately, and we should be thankful for what we've got. Even music from the deleted footage is on here, which is good to see. Quite simply, this IS the best movie soundtrack ever, and it accompanies the best movie ever, so, especially for those of us who understand what a truly superb film LEON is, buying the soundtrack comes more than highly reccomended.

Well, for people who like pop, rock and such, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU. This soundtrack, is none-vocal, therefor, there are no songs, only music. It has a classic stile to it, and i like it. Its great music, and brings back memories from the great film.
