Own recollections, leon bronstein created his first sculptures in his early youth. During his adolescence this taste for
Art strengthened, though was not practically expressed. In 1979 he emigrated from moldavia to israel with his entire family.
When he arrived he was already professionally educated as an engineer and watchmaker. Unfortunately, he could
Not find work in his profession. This misfortune turned out to be a blessing when the beautiful grain of a piece of
Olive wood captured his eyes, stimulating his talent and leading him to carve his first small sculpted figure in israel.
From that moment he drew upon his dexterity with tools and began to craft with clay and wood, as he had done
Years before when he was a child in moldavia. This happened in 1980, and for bronstein, this was the beginning of a new
Direction in his career. The prospect of being a sculptor and making his living from it seemed at the time totally utopian.
But when bronstein discovered this talent for fashioning small figures out of olive wood, he found a new path in life.
