Photos, historical recordings, biography... great!, July 25, 2000

This "Artist Album" has a selection of some of the most beloved performances by Bernstein. There are excerpts of his Memorable "Carmen" (one of the best opera recordings I ever heard, the only superior recording is the Pretre/Callas recording), alongside some of his compositions (like the unforgettable "Old Lady's Tango" from Candide and his "Serenade". Wonderful, intense. Excellent sound quality. And the CD cover is a little book with photos and excerpts from the best biography ever written about Leonard Bernstein).
