Grade 5-7-Two ephemeral titles on popular celebrities. Spice Girls tells of the group's rise to fame and gives individual accounts of the young women's childhoods and how they auditioned for the all-girl band. Shore describes their long practice sessions and their stunning success, and includes the departure of Ginger/Geri. This volume is filled with publicity photos of the performers in their outlandish garments, affirms their "Girl Power" theme, and relates some of their raucous activities. DiCaprio's name skyrocketed into headlines with the release of Titanic, his subsequent nomination for a Golden Globe Award, and his romantic links to many of Hollywood's beautiful young starlets. Stauffer has documented her subject's childhood, early history in showbiz, and his subsequent work since Titanic. Full-color photos include shots from his life and from his entertainment roles. While the book onDiCaprio offers more information, both biographies lack depth and will appeal only to hardcore fans.
