If you, like myself, wanted to look at the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci don't buy this book. I did not want the art work, I wanted to see how his mind worked and how he figured out the amazing ways to do things when he drew them. This book is primarily rhetoric and I have that in two other excellent books. Oxford has always meant, to me, that it was the real thing; that is unfortunately not the case with this book.

For those interested in Da Vinci's work, this is an excellent record and concisely portrays the amazing mental processes he used for his brilliant work for his entire life. Bought it as a gift for my father who is a brilliant designer himself.

love Leonardo DaVinci..... Everything he did he mastered eventually.he was a perfectionist....his sketches & drawing are great... his painting are beautiful..... He was a Master in what he did..

This book is better than the free versions which only have the text. However, I recommend Leonardo's Notebooks which probably has the most samples of Leonardo's sketches.
