EXCELLENT - Must have for Da Vinci lovers and art students,
By George Sand (NYC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Leonardo Da Vinci: Nature Studies from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle (Paperback)
This book is a treasure. Many little known works are contained within these 94 pages and the treatise of each is impeccable. I own many in this series but this is my favorite. A great compilation for the serious student or those who simply appreciate getting to know this artist a bit more intimately. It is a shame they are out of print.

Work from the master draftsman,
By Charles Ashbacher (Marion, Iowa United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Leonardo Da Vinci: Nature Studies from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle (Paperback)
To master a topic, the simplest and best advice is to "learn from the masters." In the area of drawing, there is no one more masterful than Leonardo da Vinci, arguably the most talented person who has ever lived. These drawings, with textual discussion of the subject matter, show him at his best. The quality is astonishing, in some cases, I needed a magnifying glass to see all of the detail. The narrator also comments that one drawing was apparently made when Leonardo was in his sixties, yet it shows no loss of quality. Every time I look at these drawings I see new features.
