This is the 2nd Heng Long Tank I have owned, the other being a Panzer III and they are both great running tanks right out of the box. This is an excellent first Tank for anyone wanting to get into RC Tanks but doesn't want to spend a lot of money upfront. Its a newer revision so it comes with Metal Gearboxes and the Heng Long RX18 board which is the best they offer.

Stay away from the non smoke & sound tanks as they have very weak boards in them as well as nylon gears with only 2 speeds. RX18 allows for 10 proportional speeds & can take a lot more Amps before they burn up, if driven correctly they will last several years. Though the Gearboxes are metal its very soft metal so they should be properly broken in before they are ran. The motors should be broken in also after doing so the Tank will run about 20-30% better.

I encourage anyone interested in any Heng Long Tank to checkout the forums at RCUniverse.com and read up before buying, it can solve a lot of headaches vs just diving in and frankly expecting too much from the Tank. This is an excellent Tank with loads of great upgrades if you want but they aren't necessary to enjoy it.

Heng Long makes some nice tanks! They're a nice size, highly detailed, very realistic, and you can get them at a reasonable price, unlike Tamiya. However, they aren't without their issues. Mine had a defective smoke unit and one of the caterpillar drive sprockets came off due to a stripped out screw hole. The seller sent me the parts and I repaired the tank myself. I enjoy tinkering and didn't mind at all. All in all I'm very pleased. But Heng Long needs to be more quality control observant.

I ordered this tank for my son and it has none of the sounds that it is supposed to have. Called the company Amazing Tech Depot and they are of zero help said I could pay to send it back and they would work on it and determine what could be done. It could take weeks.... well I opted to keep it without the sounds that was stated it had and NO smoke because he could drive it and it did shoot the BB but it was pretty crappy to get something that has none of the main selling features I wanted.

The tanks detail is great and comes with load of little things you can attach to it which made me think they should of added glue so you could actually stick these things on without any worry about loosing any of them and rest assured some will come of how ever careful you are with it.

How ever this is not a negative really as other wise it's a great little tank and works very well.

One reviewer says it comes with metal gears which is false in my case at least as only the cogs on the motors are metal all the rest are plastic.

Packaging was really nice all though when taking them out of the box the handle to the box can get in the way. And mine came with some thing broken off the rear which could be solved by not putting it on their in the 1st place.

Overall the tanks sweet it's been fun the controller sticks a little so seems like Heng Long need better quality checks before selling these.

Great little tank with little issue but would recommend it for a older child due to the many and small pieces

Looks even better than the pictures as they make it look lighter colored which really it's dark green.

I was very happy when I opened the box but the quality is really poor. The smoke and sound feature never worked properly and the construction is clearly another throw away made in China product. Not sure why one would go through the whole process of designing and manufacturing a remote control tank and then making all the parts out of cheap plastic that breaks. Would have happily paid $20-$30 more for higher quality parts.

At this point have only ran it twice for about 30-40 minutes, still not have put on all the accessories or yet tried the airsoft shooting. Will update as I use more but my first impression of the tank are good. Being my first tank it was much large than I expected. The controls are great and it has nice speed. So far my only problem is that in several different areas of description it mentions smoke. However it does not seem to have that function and it is not found anywhere in the manual.
