Barbara Brussell, where have you been all these years? The voice is sweet and calming, the take on the songs are original and inventive, and spending an hour or so with BB can wash away all the grime of our daily adventures and create a quiet nook of ease and comfort. Her participation in other recordings are standouts and though her standing in the pantheon of boite artists is still growing, I think just one evening with this gifted singer will point the way to her deserving place along with the greats.

Barbara Brussell is thrilling. Her voice is a sky-wide rainbow of color. Her interpretations are smart and deep, but laced with an almost girlish sparkle and wit. Her affinity for Alan Jay Lerner is magical. She clearly believes -- and understands -- every word. This album is a treasure for any fan of cabaret, Broadway or just plain great singing.
