Informative about the ways to have lesbian fun,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lesbian Sex (Paperback)
I read this book and it developed on how my mate and I react and play with each other. It was a great beginner book and it taught me that there is more than one way to entice an evening, morning or any time of the day. Have fun with it! I sure did.

I bought this book because it is recommended reading by Tee A. Corinne in her anthology `Lovers - love and sex stories'.
From the back of the book - This book was conceived in order to create a body of knowledge about lesbian sexuality. Change, pleasure, and responsibility are key words in the examination of this subject. The core of the book is the homework section, including specific sexual exercises "designed to help you. All of them have been tried by garden-variety lesbians similar to you and all of them have worked for somebody." This is a practical book, focusing on problems and how to solve them. Some of the topics covered are: Problems, Orgasm, Physiology, Internalized Homophobia, Fantasies, Sex and the Rest of our Lives, What We Do in Bed, Exercises. From the publisher - A best-selling, comprehensive book on lesbian sexuality, covering both theory and practical exercises. Subjects include coming out, disability, motherhood, relationships, aging and more. Exercises, examples, and theory concerning motherhood, coming out, relationships, and aging.

Good for Newbies,

If you've just 'come out', this book is a good guide for learning about yourself and other women. Issues like casual sex versus monogamy, singlhood versus coupledness, disability and std's are covered - Loulan works hard to address the ways in which the dominant society impacts on self-image, while making it clear that lesbian culture has its own norms/mandates that sometimes confine individuality. If you aren't new to the lesbian world, you won't find much here that you didn't already know. Loulan tries to cover every imaginable topic and, in so doing, forsakes depth for breadth.

Less Than Stellar,
By vanessa brown (lakeland, fl, fl USA) - See all my reviews

This book is a good resource for those who are curious about just what lesbians do in bed and how it is done, but overall it is really just stating the obvious. The book has cheesy drawings throughout, and though helpful if you're entirely clueless or can't figure some things out on your own, are little more than an amusing sidebar to the book's insulting elementary subject matter. That said, it's apparently been helpful to many others... reprinted several times now, it's still fairly high in the sales list. The book is organized like an encyclopedia of terms relating to lesbian sex, and is very informative, but just seems a little simple in some cases. Overall, a helpful aid but it won't enlighten you with any new ideas.
