More attention to homosexuality in the 90s than I knew...,

Albeit slightly outdated (1994), this book has a good deal of information pertaining discrimination, educational issues (school gay org's, curriculum, more discrimination), family rights and marriage/union issues, and other things. It contains some interesting photos as well as stories. Sadly, there was a remark of having 'sexual orientation' being protected just as age, race, religion, etc. are in the Civil Rights Act by the end of the century (42).
