Review

TAP is a premium-quality transfer paper that allows artists to transfer images to virtually any surface with the heat of an iron. Users can now have more fun with fabric, paper, wood, glass, metal and more. (Art Materials Retailer, June 1, 2010)

Fast and easy to use, these transfer sheets produce excellent results. They go into an inkjet printer smoothly and come out with the image entirely intact. No printer? That's OK! Paint, stamp, or draw images directly on the sheets, and then transfer them to fabric. The fabric can be washed, folded, and stitched, and the image won't crack or fade. You can also use these sheets to transfer images to paper, wood, glass, and metal. (Quilter's Newsletter, 12/10)

I have used various transfer papers in the past with spotty results. Often the sheet would pull part of the transfer off when I tried to remove the paper. TAP was so easy! Print, iron and remove and I had a perfect result. Highly recommend! -Ruth Burke

I've used other transfer papers before and not been happy with the results. Very often I'd have some of the image transfer missing for whatever reason. This transfer paper is very easy to use and transferred every last detail of my image. Good quality transfer with good adhesion. -Trisha Doornbosch

This was so easy to use! With TAP you can do things that before were extremely difficult and even impossible! I just love it and will be using it from now on! - Jess Pouncil

I found a different brand locally that was a little better priced for testing results.

I debated whether I should get the 5-sheet pack or the 18-sheet pack, as this isn't cheap. But neither are the results!! As soon as I transferred my first vintage illustration on my slipcover, I was so excited that I started finding other projects I could do. Next on my list? A vintage coral illustration on an existing linen pillow.

Graphics Fairy (Karen at [...]), an experienced DIYer with transfers, highly recommended this paper and so I went with it. It's washable and durable and not stiff or flaky, and the background is transparent. All in all, forgiving and easy to use product. Will need more!

I have used this product in many ways on art quilts, It works well and transfers images clearly. I have sewn though the images and that works well too. There may be other products like this, but I haven't found one that works better.

I bought this to try on canvas and it worked OK for some prints, not for others. Although it came with the basic instructions, there were no extra tips, like enhancing the color on the photo before using. With trial and error, I was able to come out with a few good results but ran through the paper quickly, making it a costly exercise. I found a different brand locally that was a little better priced for testing results.

The transfer paper worked pretty well, but you do have to make sure you trim all of the excess off. I did it on a white onsie and had to redo it because the excess I left looked yellow on the shirt. Also, I was very dissapointed that even after just one wash the image had severely faded. It said it was washable and I followed the washing directions. However, for the most part it did do what I needed.

I tried to transfer onto metal and all it did was smear and smudge. I had to wipe it off, which was difficult, and go another route. Not sure if it wasn't meant for smooth metal or what, but it definitely doesn't work. I haven't tried it on any other materials, so can't say anything there.

I used this on a wood plaque and it would not iron off all the way. Half the words were missing and wouldn't iron on if I tried to reduce it. This probably best for tshirts

This is by far the best heat transfer out there! I had read a lot about it and finally bought it before last xmas. I made a lot of bracelets and bookmarks and ran out of sheets quickly... I have since purchased more, of course. THe only "problem" is that you cannot buy it in Norway but luckily you find it on line like here. :) The fact that you can iron over it and use it on so many surfaces is brilliant. I did buy the book as well.
I have since used it for Art Totes for my grandchildren. Printed it out ( remember to reverse if text! ) and they painted on it to their hearts' content before I transferred to fabric. We tried using colored pencils but the ones I had at hand were too hard and scratched the surface. FW Acrylic Artists' Ink worked wonderfully!
I highly recommend it and will buy more!
