4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Exercise Video
I like several of Leslie Sansone's walking workout videos. From best to worst, here's how I rank the 5 I own:

2-MILE WALK -- 5 STARS. Her best video. Good pace, lots of variety. Not too hard for a beginner. It has a mileage gauge, which helps keep me going. (1996)

MIRACLE MILE -- 4½ STARS. A 1-mile walking workout in 15 minutes, plus a cool down and stretches. Great...

1.0 out of 5 stars Leslie Sansone-Miracle Mile
I was very disappointed in this DVD. The moves were more complicated than most of Leslie's walks. I doubt I will use this much.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Exercise Video, November 16, 2001
By A Customer
I like several of Leslie Sansone's walking workout videos. From best to worst, here's how I rank the 5 I own:

2-MILE WALK -- 5 STARS. Her best video. Good pace, lots of variety. Not too hard for a beginner. It has a mileage gauge, which helps keep me going. (1996)

MIRACLE MILE -- 4½ STARS. A 1-mile walking workout in 15 minutes, plus a cool down and stretches. Great for those days when I haven't much time but I want to get some quick exercise in. Also good on days of cramps, if tired, etc. (1996)

WEIGHT LOSS WALK -- 3½ STARS. Has 3 20-minute segments of 1 mile, 1.5 miles, and 1.5 miles. Excellent for variety. Handy for those days when I want a different distance. Segments can be done alone or combined for a wide variety of distances -- up to 4 miles. A mix of familiar and different movements. Some of the exercises are a little goofy but it's good variety. Don't like the silent gaps between songs. (1993)

Not recommended:
PLUS 40 WORKOUT -- 2 STARS. A 2-mile workout, not nearly as good as "2-MileWalk". Seems somewhat amateurish. Has silent gaps between songs. (1989)

WALK & FIRM -- 2 STARS. Leslie with hand weights doing safe and simple exercises. Unfortunately, I really can't get into it, and I've never finished the video. (1998)

Leslie's videos are hard enough but not too hard for people just getting back into exercise. When I use them daily (especially mornings) I find I'm much less hungry all day. I've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks. I try to exercise daily but usually do so 4-6 times a week. I feel better, sleep better, and have better posture.

5.0 out of 5 stars This video got me hooked on walkaerobics!, November 28, 1999
By
JoJo Wex (Sarasota, Florida) - See all my reviews
I started a diet and Leslie Sansone's walkaerobics program the same day. Leslie is so encouraging that I didn't quit when I found the first day somewhat difficult. My legs tired, but I slowed down as she suggested during the video and was able to complete the one mile walk. Since that time, I have completed the one mile walk with increasing ease. Now I have the two mile walk video and the video for people over 40. I love them all. I have learned that low impact aerobics mixed with walking can be fun and definitely contribute to weight loss.

I recommend this video to any one who wants to exercise at home. I go to the gym three days a week and do the walkaerobics videos on alternate days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and effective!, March 11, 2001

This is one of my favorite Leslie Sansone walking tapes. Its a brisk 15 minute mile with upbeat music. Leslie is her usual encouraging self. She leads a group of exercisers with simple steps that are varied enough to prevent boredom but low impact and easy to do. I pop in the tape for a quick walk after meals. It burns calories yet doesn't take a lot of time. At the end of the tape she leads you in a few minutes of toning exercises. A super video!

5.0 out of 5 stars Salvation for Working Moms!, April 26, 2000
By
Risa Mish (Ossining, NY) - See all my reviews
As a working mother of two small children, I constantly used the excuse of "not having enough time to exercise". This video put me on the path back toward reclaiming my "pre-baby" self. It takes JUST 15 MINUTES to do the aerobic portion. (Another 5 minutes of floor work follows; it might take you a while to work up to that part.) The steps are easy. Leslie is upbeat. There are women on this video who have lost 80 and 100 pounds! I figured that if they could do that, I could certainly stick with this program. I now do the tape twice a day -- once when I get up in the morning, and once when I come home. But, just doing the tape once every day will start to change your body in about 12 weeks. I heartily recommend this tape for working moms!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best tape on the market., October 25, 1999

This tape helped me become motivated to exercise once again. It is the just the right length of time especially after working all day. Other tapes are too long or to hard to follow. I enjoy her other tapes too. I like to alternate between the 1 mile walk, the firming tape, and the 2 mile walk. It is a winning combination. I now have no excuse not to exercise everyday. The steps are easy to follow as well as fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Walking At Its Best, January 9, 2000
By A Customer
I used to be one of those people who made it into the gym every morning before work. Then I had two major surgeries within 4 years (non exercise related!) - and have been unable to motivate myself to get back into the gym. I discovered this tape by accident 3 months ago and I absolutely love it! It's a great way to get back into the habit of exercising every day. I have tried a few other tapes with different instructors, but this is the one I keep going back to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has Stick-with-it-ness, January 25, 2004
By
Maria (Sarasota, FL USA) - See all my reviews
The Miracle Mile is the first exercise video I have ever been able to stick with and actually look forward to doing. Well, kind of. I am very overweight and HATE exercise as a general rule, but I was able to do this one from the first time I tried- a very motivating factor. (I couldn't quite the pace the first two or three times, but I did get to the end and then quickly got better.)I think that if I had started with anything longer, timewise, I wouldn't be doing it 4 times a week, because I just don't have time. But it is so short, it's over before you know it, so you can slip it in between errands, just before you jump in the shower, or while dinner is on the stove. I absolutely recomend this to any obese person who doesn't feel graceful or peppy or who is scared of having to stop in the first five minutes. That was me. The moves are simple, and very very soon you will be able to complete the mile. AFter two months with the Miracle Mile, I am now bying the 2 Mile Walk (and wondering why there isn't a 1.5 mile video???)

Of course, listening to the same patter over and over again is nauseating, but after you do it 10 times, turn down the sound so you can just barely here the thumping beat, and put on talk radio!

I started doing Leslie's walk aerobics in February/02 and have noticed great results..starting with the over 40..then adding 3 others to my purchases...The Miracle Mile is my favorite as I can use it when I am short of time or add it to another when I want added benefits...Leslie is so encouraging and has helped me to cope with fibromyalgia - in July I couldn't walk...

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, you can exercise, December 8, 1999
By A Customer
This is a great tape for those who have not been into exercise for a while. I may not be able to do fancy yoga postures or jump around without wheezing (asthma) but I can walk. Leslie gives plenty of opportunities to slow down and is so encouraging that I go on anyway. I feel so much better now. I'm buying more of her tapes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy 15-minute mile, December 7, 2001
By A Customer
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Leslie Sansone makes a mile a day a reality in spite of my busy schedule. I had doctor's orders to walk a mile at least 3X a week to lower my cholesterol, but I leave for work at 7 a.m. and don't get home until after 6 p.m. Finding the time and energy was a real problem until this tape arrived. Now weekday mornings, I "build" the coffee and while it drips, I do a 15-minute mile, and afterwards reward myself with a cup of coffee before heading to the shower to get ready for work. Her tape makes it easy and fun, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the variety of steps keeps the tape from becoming too predictable or boring. Not only has my cholesterol dropped, but so has my weight and my waistline. Thanks, Leslie.
