5.0 out of 5 stars I Highly Recommend This Set for Those Who, September 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Leslie Sansone - Walk Away the Pounds Express 3-Pack (DVD)
I bought this set because I already had Leslie's Walk Away The Pounds set and wanted to do something different. This comes with the 1 mile, 2 mile (combined in one dvd), 3 mile DVD and a purple stretchie band.

Leslie does the same moves as she does in the Walk Away the Pounds set but uses the stretchie band instead of water weights. I have done all 3 of the workouts and I always feel energized after doing them. The only negative I can come up with is that Leslie simply talks too much. After learning the routine, I always mute the sound and play my own music because I get annoyed by the contant chatter.

I will admit that Leslie seems like a very nice and genuine person and I don't mind her letting you know what steps you are getting ready to do, but the constant banter about how great the "workout buddies" are etc. I get bored with after the first 2 times of doing the workout.

I used Leslie's workout tapes when I was 50 pounds heavier and I hadn't exercised in ages. Her tapes along with healthy eating habits helped me suceed in losing the weight. If Leslie comes out with more sets, and I'm sure she will, I will definately buy them!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great workouts!, January 12, 2006
This review is from: Leslie Sansone - Walk Away the Pounds Express 3-Pack (DVD)
I bought this set of DVDs after enjoying some of Leslie Sansone's other workouts, and I wasn't disappointed. There are 1, 2, and 3 mile workouts, all of which incorporate the (included) Stretchie resistance band. The walks involve several simple moves - marching in place, knee lifts, side steps, kicks, and kickbacks - and light strength training during the second half. The pace of the walking starts fairly slowly but becomes brisk in the middle segment.

I found the workouts fairly easy to pick up, although the Stretchie did give me a little trouble at first - mainly figuring out how to hold and pull it without making my wrists hurt!

Leslie walks with several other walkers, from ages 27 to 72, and there is some (slightly smarmy) dialogue between them. The music is fairly standard workout music, nothing to write home about! I find the Express walks an enjoyable way to get in a quick, complete workout at home.

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent workout but has some flaws, February 2, 2004
By A Customer
I have Leslie's earlier "Walk Away The Pounds" 1,2 & 3-mile tapes, and I like those better than this set. It seems to me that she has made a decision to "simplify" the workouts on the "Express" set, making them (for me, anyway) quite monotonous. The 1-mile tape is very, very easy and I would not recommed buying it separately, as you will be ready for more of a challenge very quickly. The 2-mile tape is better--it's billed as the "brisk walk" and it does feel like a good workout by the end--but again, the moves are extremely repetetive--just marching in place, side steps, knee lifts and kicks. These are the same basic moves as in her earlier tapes, but there she made them a little more varied by adding more arm movements, single vs. double side steps, etc. I also dislike the music, which I don't find very tuneful at all.
The tapes also utilize the "stretchy band," which is a long, rubber-esque band you use for upper-body stretches. I do like this and feel it's helping to give me some much-needed upper-body strength.
I haven't gotten up to the 3-mile tape yet, but will assume it's along the same lines as the 1 and 2-mile.
