I'm a believer!,

This review is from: Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds Express - Advanced Walk, 3 Miles (DVD)
I am a recent Leslie Sansone convert. I have spent years doing intense cardio that I really didn't enjoy but I felt that if I wasn't panting and sweating I was wasting my time. Thus, I could never get myself to do more than a 30 minute cardio workout. Well, I'm so glad I gave Leslie a try. I had seen clips of her workouts and thought they must be only for the incredibly overweight or out of shape. I stand corrected!I decided to switch my workouts to lower intensity, keeping my heart rate at what it would be on a brisk walk and Leslie is perfect for this. WATP express 3 mile walk is great. It's 45 minutes and I can get through the workout without the dread factor. I enjoy it! The music is great. The first song is the one where the guys chant `power walk' but it's only for 5 minutes and I don't even mind it. I enjoy the chatter. I used to work out with Charlene Pricket a lot and enjoyed her chatter too. I don't like to get too `serious' in my workouts and don't enjoy complex choreography that required in-depth instruction and discussion. Oh I'd better say, if you like dance workouts and `routines' you may not like Leslie's style. It is very simple, uncomplicated - I love it! I can get interrupted 10 times by my kids during the workout and don't have to struggle to figure out what the heck step we're on. The first 30 minutes are spent doing the walking aerobics with the different leg moves/arm moves and increasing pace etc. During the third mile you get your stretchie. I don't have one so I use my exertube with the handles and it works just great. I really like that the stretchie part is in the end since it opens a new dimension to the workout and just when you may be feeling like you've had enough you get a burst of energy from it and then it's over and time to cool down! I don't rely on Leslie workouts to work my arms to capacity so I'm not worried about the length or lack-thereof of the stretchie work - I felt it and that's great. Overall, I am very pleased with this workout and can see enjoying it well into the future.

Not my favorite Leslie tape,
By A Customer
This review is from: Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Express: Advanced Walk 3 Miles [VHS] (VHS Tape)
While I love Leslie's walking tapes, this is not my favorite. Her fat burning 3 Mile with the 2-lb. weights is a much better workout IMO. Also, her 4 Mile Super Challenge is a great workout. This one was a disappointment.

A good workout!,

I love Leslie's videos, I own several of them. This one, while a good workout, is not my favorite. Why? Well, a 2 mile walk is 32 minutes (includes warm up, cool down and stretching). A 4 mile walk is 59 minutes, including the same things. This 3 mile walk is 51 minutes...I feel like if I'm going to invest that much time, I might as well go another 8 minutes and another mile! But if you're not quite ready for the intensity of the 4 mile, this would probably be a good choice.

Definitely a must-have for your WATP collection,

I just did this DVD for the first time after completing miles 1-3 of Leslie's regular Walk Away the Pounds and miles 1-2 of her Express Walk Away the Pounds. So far, I've loved every single one of Leslie's walking workouts and this one is no different. It's high energy, fast-paced, and goes by surprisingly fast for 3 miles! My only gripe is that I wish she did 1/2 mile increments again like she does with the 2 mile express. Sometimes that extra encouragement makes a world of difference. But I still highly recommend it to anyone ready for the 3 mile walk. Kathleen

WATP Express Series,

This review is from: Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds Express - Advanced Walk, 3 Miles (DVD)
I have the regular WATP series, the Power Series, and most of the Express Series. The Express series is my least favorite. I love in-home walking and Leslie. I am an intermediate exerciser and prefer low impact.I have been trying to determine why I do not like this series, and after doing this 3 mile express walk yesterday, I think I have it! It is the music - it is hard to follow the beat, and it seems as if the walkers are either out of step or off the beat, including Leslie. You will notice that she is constantly changing her footing during the workout. I use this DVD to have a little variety so you don't hear the same thing day after day. I wish the music was different. Maybe next time I will try to do it without any sound, but doubt if I can follow it visually by the fact that the exercisers are usually out of step and off beat. I don't have the stretchie band they use, but I found a cheap set at a department store which work the same. The stretchie band is easy to use and doesn't take up storage space. The upper body exercises work a few new areas, especially the triceps (granny arms). You will get more benefit from the bands if you remember to always keep a little tension in the band during use. This DVD is okay, just find your own pace to the beat of the music and ignore the out of sync pace of the walkers!

Fun And Challenging!,

I just tried Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pound Express 3 Mile Advanced Walk and it is definitely a winner. I could feel the glutes and hamstrings really getting a deep workout. The atmosphere is very colorful, the exercisers are dressed the same and there are all shapes and sizes of people whom appear in the dvd. Leslie is soooo encouraging and excellent with the cueing of new moves. I am looking forward to doing this one again and again!

I think that this is a great workout, and it doesn't take that long. I usually get up at 5:45 am and by 6:35, I'm done. The 51 minutes includes a gentle warm up, but the brisk walk is about 45 minutes. I recommend this one!

I love Leslie. Her workouts are fun and super easy to follow. Nothing dancy or weird. And she talks so much that the workout just flies by. Definitely worth every penny. Highly recommended!

I bought the 1, 2, and 3 mile express videos in one big pack, and I started with the 1 mile and worked my way up. The 3 mile is my favorite though, because it's just challenging enough to really get me going, but it's not too hard. It's helped me lose over 40 lbs now. By the end of the workout, my legs start feeling like jelly and almost like they can't do anymore, and that's right when we get to the cool down, so it's perfect. I love these workouts so much that I am going to order the 4 mile one soon!
