Another Light Day Workout
on May 26, 2011
I just did this today because my husband bought it for me yesterday. I thought that the weighted gloves would add more intensity but at the end I was barely sweating. I also have reservations about her calling it a 4 mile walk when she starts the stretch without official notification that 4 miles has been reached and the little extra moves in between (like the "mini squats)don't count as walking (at least not in my mind).
I have several of Leslie's DVD's and this is one of her poorer 4 mile walks. The intensity just isn't there.
The short "break" between the 2nd and 3rd miles, I felt, was unnecessary. Apparently they cut the cameras to allow her to wipe the sweat away but she could have kept going as she was. Because of that break, it seems that this walk veered away from her normal method of a warm-up tempo followed by progressively faster songs. The song tempos felt random and there were a few songs that didn't even seem long enough to be worth playing (unfortunately, they were the faster songs).
At the end, I was barely sweating. So, in short, if you are looking for a workout that will make you feel like you really got a workout (depends upon your fitness level), I'd pass on this. However, if you are looking for something to fill in the gaps between more strenuous walks (or whatever other exercise activities you do) this may work for you.
