Propagandhi at their best!,
By "ripstar" (Winnipeg) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Less Talk More Rock (Audio CD)
This is Propagandhi's best album ever... and probably one of the greatest political punk albums of all time. Chris and John's killer vocals and lyrics and Jordie carrying the amazing beat, Propagandhi carry the message like none other. Every song on this cd is amazing. If you had to buy one cd in your lifetime, this is it. Ranging from fast all out punk in soings like Resisting Tyrannical Government and Nation States, to slow melodic vocals in Anchorless, this is an essential to any political "punk" collection.

I think my headline says it all. Excellent from beginning to end. If you are just getting into Propagandhi this is a great place to start.

Propaghandi is an amazing band and more people need to listen to this album. Its pretty hard and fast and points, but amazing. This album has been one of my favorites for years. If you are interested in hearing acute, political punk rock lyrics yelled; this album is for you.

Propagandhi has done it again and put out another awesome punk album. Although the music itself is not as good as their first album the messages are definately more in your face. It is refreshing to lsiten to a band that has convictions and intelligent views on society. They support their views and don't just spout out mindless crap. The music itself is great with fast, hard guitars and good melodys. Everything you liked about Prpagandhi is back and in your face whether you like it or not. A must own for all true punk fans, even if you don't agree with their beliefs."The unexamined life is not worth living" --Socrates

"Less Talk, More Rock" is better than "How To Clean Everything" because they are more direct on their beliefs and political stances. However, it doesn't have the musical range that "How To Clean Everything" does. A lot of the songs do sound the same, but the messages are worth while. If you want someone to tell it like it is as far as class divisions, prejudices (racism, sexism, homophobia, and speciesism), and who is really pulling the strings, buy this album. This is by far one of the best politically motivated albums of all time. It's refreshing to hear a band that actually knows what they stand for, and who they stand against (in case you weren't paying attention they are: anti-fascist, gay-positive, pro-feminist, and animal-friendly). Two songs, "Anchorless," and "Gifts," are personal songs, rather than political songs, but they are great songs anyway. So, buy this album if you like to think!

It's nice to finally be able to find a band whose music and lyrics are both excellent. These guys have something important to say, and unlike some punk bands, they know how to say it without sounding like morons. I have a lot of respect for propagandhi. Even though I disagree with some of their beliefs, I still think that this album is worth buying for anyone who loves punk and has a functioning brain. This album and their previous one, How to Clean Everything, are two of the best punk albums ever made. Propagandhi kicks ass.

Love to Propagandhi!,

I love this album and Propagandhi is a band that can't help but inspire. It seems these days that anyone who believes in any liberal ideas passionately, is automatically labeled with the dreaded (and I'm convinced right-wing invented not to mention completely thoughtless and stupid) "politically correct" catch phrase. So it's refreshing to see a band that has so much soul and aren't afraid to speak out about what they believe in. One of my favorite songs on this album (and it's hard to choose there are so many great tracks) is "Refusing to be a Man." (Which I'm not sure, but may have been named after the book of the same name by John Stoltenberg.) Since everyone seems so afraid to call themselves a feminist nowadays, that Propagandhi stands up with some courage and does so openly, and with intelligent thought is something I have a lot of respect for. It's nice to know that someone hasn't forgotten us. All the songs on this album are intelligent and inspiring, though - definitely worth listening to. In fact all their albums are, so check 'em out! Propagandhi is angry, hard and punk, but also fun and funny. Feeling a little rage? They got ya' covered. Want to be inspired? That's taken care of as well. Or maybe you'd like a little sardonic humor - all provided. This band has a heart, and this album just rocks - musically, lyrically and in every way that matters. Love to this gutsy and passionate band!

ahh, the sweet sounds of rebellion. Although I don't agree with everything they say, It is nice to hear a band that is really committed to their beliefs. If you have a brain and like punk rock, and want to expand your horizons, buy this albums. If you are a close-minded jerk that wants to hear pop-punk don't buy this album.I wish people wouldn't compare NOFX to Blink-182

Bens definitive review of Less Talk More Rock,

A great album, the group seem to have aquired a greater level of musical skill, but some of the songs lack the personality of HTCE, and all express heavy political opinions. A great fast, hard hitting punk album.
