Book Description

A telekinetic teenager. A telepathic child. A psionic war.

Despite his newfound standing in the Guardian faction, psionic destroyer Adrian Howell never imagined himself joining the Knights for actual combat missions. He would have preferred to live in peace, but the psionic war takes no one's preferences into account. And much to his own surprise, Adrian finds himself beginning to enjoy the thrill of the chase—until something goes drastically wrong. Now, even as the Guardians prepare for a major showdown against their primary enemy faction, Adrian finds himself trapped in a world of darkness that is slowly poisoning his heart and mind... drawing him ever closer to becoming the very monster he had set out to kill.

Lesser Gods is the third book of Adrian Howell's Psionic Pentalogy: a supernatural adventure series with psychic children, teens and adults, telekinesis, telepathy, and many twists and turns in a harsh urban fantasy world. The Kindle edition of the first book, Wild-born, is currently being offered free or at heavily reduced cost.

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy
(Recommended for readers aged 13 to 3013.)

Tabletop-RPG Players Take Note: The Psionic Pentalogy world will soon be featured in award-winning game designer Lester Smith's D6xD6 Role-Playing Game book scheduled for release in the winter of 2014.

Read all five books of Adrian Howell's Psionic Pentalogy in order:

Book One: Wild-born
Book Two: The Tower
Book Three: Lesser Gods
Book Four: The Quest
Book Five: Guardian Angel

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Lesser Gods is the third installment of the Psionic Pentalogy. This series is meant to be read in order, so if you haven't yet read the first two books, you may want to start with the first, which is Wild-born.

That said, if you're here because you already read Wild-born and The Tower, get ready for a heavier plot in the longest book of this series. Lesser Gods is a darker tale than the first two books. The inter-faction war heats up, reshaping the lives of those caught in between. You may find your opinion of some of the characters changing rapidly, and not always for the better. I certainly did when I was writing them.

Thank you again for your continued support of this story. (And please do post your reviews. No, seriously.)

5.0 out of 5 stars This is part of a five book series! June 17, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have read all the books to this point, and if you haven't read the first or second, I suggest you start from the beginning, otherwise this book won't mean as much to you. This book gives more of an emotional and personal feeling and view of alot of the main characters. I can't say whether this book or that book is better than the other, as like I said it's a part of a series. I absolutely loved this book as much as the last two. This five book series, which continues from one to the next is just all the way around, excellently written, exciting, adventurous, funny, emotional, twisting, on the edge of your seat can't put it down wonderful story! Characters are well defined and the environment is described beautifully! Kudos to the writer, whatever your real name is! Now, leave me alone for a few days as I have yet another book to buy and see what troubles find Adrian in the fourth book. Hehe That's all I will say as you really do need to read it yourself. :D Happy reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought I had it figured out... June 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
While reading the third book in this series i felt the writer had tipped his hat as to what was to come. Thankfully I was wrong (at least So far) Now I need to finish the series as my guess was wrong, I guess that shows what a good writer ????? ???? is since he goes by the name of the main caricature in the series Adrian Howell. Its not perfect but it it's what i like in a summer read... Escapism from day to day reality and the heat witch I can't go out into for very long due to a medication I need to take. So this is my "word of mouth" contribution that is mentioned at the end of each volume. If you want to temporarily leave behind the daily grind of your so called "normal Life" these books will accomplish that. and for that reason I will continue on until the end, I just finished book three Lesser Gods and was planning on taking a break for two reasons. One I thought I knew what was coming and second I have a problem paying more than $3.00 for any eBook, its the whole physical thing of having nothing to show for my purchase, this probably sounds weird to those who have grown up knowing no other way but having a real book or CD, DVD or Vinyl recording adds to the experience which you never get when buying digital content. It's hard to put into words but I'm sure there are others out there that know what I'm talking about... In some ways its great especially for new unknown artists but I prefer the old way and always will, I wish Amazon did the same with books and DVD's what they do with many CD's you buy from them, giving you a free digital copy of the CD you can add to your Comp. iPad etc. Hint Hint! are you listening Amazon? All in all a great journey and now I'm off on "The Quest" book four of Adrian's adventures in Psionic land -------->>>

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific book in a Terrific Series June 1, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really love this series of books. It is well written, tremendous plot and great character development. The details hang together so well from book to book (at the end of the 5th and final book is a very nice author piece explaining his process and why he wrote all five books before publishing any - it was very enjoyable to read about the author's process in his own words.)

I was hooked on book one, which I got for free from one of my Kindle book sites, and happily paid for the remaining four books through I don't recall a series of books I have enjoyed more. I did enjoy Terry Goodkind's books about The Seeker in much the same way, but this series is right up there with those books in my opinion.

I highly recommend this book, but it is part of a series, and I highly recommend reading the series, as they all hang together more as a unit than as individual books. You need the continuity of the series to truly appreciate them individually.

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining May 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The characters are well formed and I can imagine them as real. Each book gives a good description of what has happened in the past which is good for a saga. I do, however, feel that some of the fight scenes are too similar and a repeat of previous ones. Good, fun, reading though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lesser Gods (Psionic Pentalogy) April 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This whole series is just fabulous and so intense! If there were ever anything possible remote to what these books are like, the author really did a great job. In all I think its about 5 books and each is just as exciting as the first. I recommend this series if you are in to reading a book non-stop adventure. Sometimes it seems a bit extreme because of the starting age of the characters in this series but as you read, you experience their growth year after year. I reccommend this book and the ones before and after it. If you are a Harry Potter fan then its right down your alley.

I can't get enough of these books- I really wish there were more of them. I'm hoping Adrian writes more- I'd definitely be up for that. Psionic powers, folks in trouble, a secret underground community... I love it!
