Product Description

Other teachers think of Dan Starney as a quiet, mild-mannered history teacher who fits in nicely with their small town views. With little warning, Dan and math teacher Karena Walsh are thrust into the middle of a local controversy involving one of the school's art teachers. Under strain, Dan's facade begins to crack, giving Karena a peek at the social and political frustrations boiling within. Disturbed by what she senses from Dan, and startled by a glimpse of his concealed weapon, Karena decides she needs to secretly investigate his activities. Unexpected romance can tangle even the most sincere intentions, however, and as events begin to spiral out of control, the stage is set for explosive results that extend far beyond their quiet town.

5.0 out of 5 stars Edgy Psychological Thriller, August 6, 2010
By

The author, Stuart Whitmore, has a descriptive, flowing style that makes this novel a real page turner. He has created a tense tale of modern morality in this psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars The book sample is good., May 12, 2011
The price is too rich for my blood :)

Maybe another time I'll pony up the 7.99 for it; but for now I'll leave it on the wish list. To that effect though, as a fellow author I can definitely say that I thoroughly enjoyed his writing style. He's got exactly what the previous reviewer stated - a flowing writing style that's hard to put down. I ran through the 'demo' very rapidly and the foreshadowing is apparent but not overdone. The character names and attitudes are believable with an undercurrent of constant tension lurking.

Aw heck, I might pony up the cash after all!

More About the Author

For almost his whole life, Stuart Whitmore has held a strong interest in writing, publishing, and storytelling in general. Early encouragement from an elementary school teacher paved the way for him to complete the first drafts of two full-length novels before he graduated from high school. By the time he reached the age of twenty, another novel's first draft was behind him. His poetry, stage plays, short stories, and other writings filled many more pages of ink-stained spiral notebooks. The Internet was not yet opened to general public use, and Stuart gradually put his writing aside to focus on other career goals.

After serving in the US Air Force, Stuart pursued a degree in computer science and became deeply involved in Web development. After the turn of the century, he saw the doors of electronic publishing opening beyond technical material and e-commerce. The diverse options now available for reading digital content, coupled with instantaneous global distribution, are a dream come true for Stuart. He can now share his stories far and wide, collect feedback, and even interact directly with readers he might never have reached before. He invites you not only to read his works, but also to share your responses with him.

Happy reading!
