Good book but my comment is really a response to the other comment. Jews were not the first monotheistic people, in fact, Jews are henotheist. Jews agree that there are multiple Gods, however they only worship one. The Egyptian leader Amenhotep 4, or Akhenaton, was a monotheist.

This is a wonderful educational resource and a great outline for creating lesson plans and study units. Highly recommended for parents and teachers interested in educating their students in African and "African-American" history from the perspective of the African/"African-American" instead of the European version of history that is commonly taught.

This book seems to state very obvious things with a lot of support, and does not support contraversial opinions. Some of the material is untrue. The Egyptians were not monotheisic they were polytheistic Judaisim was the first monotheistic religion. Worth the price, but not much more.
