Excellent book. FULL of ideas...I used to have a hard time searching for GREAT ideas to intro multiplication to my students. Not anymore. This book is a great tool - a great resource. I ordered, received it and have used it daily for the last week. I am planning on using it for a couple more weeks.
If you are looking for great, interesting and FUN math activities that have students think outside of the box - THIS IS IT!

You can't go wrong with a Marilyn Burns book for teaching math. I have "About Teaching Mathematics", which includes some of the lessons from this book. I had used them in the past and found that it made multiplication so fun to teach and learn. I wanted more creative lessons to help my students understand multiplication, not just memorize facts, and this book fits the bill. Each lesson includes an overview, materials, time, and directions. The format is easy to read and translates perfectly into my own lesson plans. Unfortunately I can't dedicate nearly enough time to teach all the lessons fully, but I'll make it work as best I can. I highly recommend this book and anything else by Marilyn Burns.
