5.0 out of 5 stars Best British travelogue ever!, July 20, 2008
By G. Tutin "gt slade" (San Francisco, CA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
If you watch Gutfeld's rib-tickling "Red Eye" on FoxNews and have wondered why they keep bleeping him, here's your chance to find out. Greg describes his magazine editing gig in the UK, which seems to involve lots of crawling, some of it in pubs, and very little writing.

A book you will read again and again, for within his light-hearted account, you actually learn stuff about the British, Americans by contrast, plus useful culinary hints for future visitors to the Isles. Thus the "pork scratchings" in the title.

Some may find the language a bit raunchy. Non-prudes may consider his use of offensive words exhaustive. Either way, it is informative for Brits and Yanks. Germans, not so much.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, August 18, 2009
As an American who is going to visit England in the next few months, I found this book extremely helpful. Americans all believe certain stereotypes about the British, but it's the little things that we do not understand. Greg Gutfeld is one of the funniest people on television and this book confirms it. He puts a unique take on British culture. His premise is basically that the British have given up and are content with that. Unlike America, where we keep trying to move up in the world, the British are OK with their status. Thus, they create this world involving pubs, soccer and of course pork scratchings. Greg Gutfeld discusses over 100 small aspects of British life like their television, cabs and soccer games, but usually it all comes back to the pub. Great book.

4.0 out of 5 stars LOL funny, June 6, 2009
I like that the chapters, at a couple pages each, are bite size. Literally laugh out loud funny. I want my British friend Ian to read it to see what he thinks.
