This is a must read book for anyone struggling with the challenges that life throws our way. In the book, Jennifer shares her fears and disappointments, but more importantly, how she overcomes these very real hurdles in her life. Contained in the pages are practical steps and advice in how to overcome the hurdles in all of our lives and how to draw closer to God. Many know of God, few know God in such a loving and special way as Jennifer. This is a book you will want to read over and over again.

Lessons I learned in the Dark is one of the best books I've ever read. Jennifer uses a humorous style to bring home in very real way how we can find joy in whatever circumstance we are in.

Its a wonderful book to give to as a gift - everyone can identify with the lessons she illustrates in this book.

Wow,this book is one of the most inspirational I have read! I can't imagine there is a person out there that wouldn't benefit highly by reading this book!
She is honest and transparant about facing her fears, failures, and triumphs and inspires us to face ours; sprinkled with Scripture and honest personal story, she ends chapters with Biblical perspective and how a Christian can apply what she learned to live a victorious life of faith.

Reading her vivid story-telling you will not just feel as if you're reading a book; you will feel as if you know her and have journeyed with her. Knowing what she has "walked" through she certainally does convince you that whatever "seeming obstacles" that you are presented with in life-that God will make something beautiful of it and bring you through it, and you will actually be thankful for it.

She focuses on thankfulness, rejoicing and a positive attitude being keys-and how her parents, then supportive Mr Wonderful helped and motivated her to overcome the dark and scary places of life by walking out in faith. She is honest about the good and the bad, and gives you the motivation to take the risks, and enable you to find your purpose and not hide or listen to your own excuses any longer!

Her journey in the dark has given me such a deeper and richer and understanding of what it means to live by faith, and to walk out into the future that God has for each of us-not knowing where we're going, but trusting His leading and stepping out of our "comfort" places, growing and overcoming! This is a truly inspiring story for any and everyone to read! I recommend this book very highly-as she found her true gem, and many of them spiritually and personally on her faith walk, she will help you find yours!

Jennifer Rothchild touches our very souls with her encounters with God and his majesty. We begin to "see" for the first time just how powerful and mighty our Heavenly Father can be to his children. While we listen to her stories dealing with her family and her life as a vibrant mother and lecturer, we often forget she is doing all these wonderful things under the cover of darkness. We forget because there is no darkness in Jennifer's soul. Each chapter, enriched by a personal poem or song, introduces us to the holy love and power of Jesus Christ. Uplifting and encouraging, this book begins a journey for us, and we want to walk alongside this amazing woman for the rest of our days. There is no doubt how much she loves the Lord, and this love enables her to make some wonderful connections to his power and light. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to "see" the big picture when it comes to religion, overcoming handicap, emotional triumph, and even awkward moments of victory. As Jennifer runs across a busy street, our thoughts go along with her. Jennifer may have learned lessons in the dark, but she walks in the light of the love of the lamb. That light touches the souls of her readers and transmutes us all to her own special way of seeing. I cannot wait to read more books by this wonderful author.

I have experienced extreme physical trials, which I've found difficult to relate [from the depths of sadness to the immense joy I have felt] with most people I personally know; I simply could not find the right words to express my feelings.

WOW, for me, this book does it, and so eloquently, paragraph after paragraph, chapter after chapter! Next to my beloved scriptures, this may be one the most important books I've read in a long time.

I initially picked it up from the library, but I simply had to purchase my own copy. As with my scriptures, I'm been outlining and writing within the margins my own feelings - generated by this book. I feel I have found a friend, within this author, with the right WORDS she's shared.

Jennifer Rothschild is a wife, mom, musician, author, and inspiring motivational speaker! She shares the story of her coming to terms with a degenerative disease that made her blind at 15 in this real, funny and extremely touching book. Her refections offer practical advice for really walking by faith.

To be completely frank, I believe that the concepts explained in this book could only be brought to light by a blind person. After reading just a few pages, I realized that I'm the one with the handicap even though I have my sight. Thank you, Jennifer, for opening my eyes to how much I take for granted because of my sightedness. And thanks for giving me practical help to live my life more faithfully.

I am sooo impressed with the writings of Jennifer Rothschild! Pick up at least one of her books, if not more! She sees, if not with her eyes, she sees with her full heart! God bless her!
