A better example of Robert's early books,
By
This review is from: Lessons Learned ( Silhouette Language of Love #25) (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite early Nora Robert's books. The prequel, Summer Desserts was good reading, but I enjoyed Lessons Leared more because the characters were better developed. I especially enjoyed the colorful, sexy, funny, loverboy character of Carlo Franconi. The tension between Carlo and Julie is palpable. Well written and interesting, this was one of the few Robert's books that had me wondering if the lovers in this story were truly starcrossed or if they would find their way together in the end.

Enjoyable Sequel to Summer Desserts,

This review is from: Lessons Learned (Silhouette Special Edition #318) (Paperback)
Sexy Italian chef Carlo Franconi goes on a 3 week book tour to promote his new cookbook. With him on his travels is super- organized publicist Juliet Trent, who is determined not to fall for this latin lover type. Of course, she does and he finds the one woman he's been looking for all his life. Carlo visits his friends from the book, "Summer Desserts" and it is fun to read about them again. You will probably enjoy this book more if you have already read "Summer Desserts". Excerpt from the back of the book:

One of my favorites,

I do get frustrated when books are re-released and it is difficult to tell that fact. That being said, Nora Roberts is one of my all time favorite writers and this book is one of my favorites. The characters are charming and the story moves at the perfect pace.

Love it but....,

I truly love Nora Roberts books and will be a fan for life. I join everyone else in requesting that reprints/re-releases of earlier book SHOULD be clearly noted on the books. This is ever so much more important with Kindle! I have now twice bought a book on kindle, that I already read as a novel. This is very frustrating! I think a few do have it, but not the majority. Please allow the reader to make informed decisions as we continue to support our favorite writers.

rereleased,,,,,,,,, another one,

I don't mind having books rereleased, it's a great way to pick up a book I might have missed, and the writer still gets her royalty, which she wouldn't if I bought the book used.
I object to the publishers not saying that it's a reprint. I'm really really tired of it. I suppose that expecting loyalty to the reading public is a pipe dream. Time to hit up congressmen and women, and senators. We need laws requiring disclosure. It's the only way.

This being her Follow up novel to Summer Desserts, I was excited to read it.
It definitely did not let me down. it was just as great as Summer Desserts! I myself worked for a true Northern Italian Chef and her character, Carlo Franconi, reminded me sooo much of him. It was such a fun enjoyable read. I truely loved it! Hopefully One day, I will get swept off my feet by the one true person who will accept the nature of the Culinary business just like Carlo and Summer has. |
