From her personal experience in dealing with serious illness and grief in her own family, to sharing experiences of her clients, a warmth shines through. Each day we know not what the world has in store for us...is this the day that either ourselves or a loved one will receive news of a life altering illness, or the day that the world proves the fragility of life as a life ends unexpectedly? Dr Reiss through her book enables us to realize that there is hope even during what appears to be days of unending distraught, and that the light will once again shine on our gloom...even when our personal world is full of stress and grief, she shows that we still have an opportunity to live while in the process of dying...we can make the most of our minutes, hours, days...this book is a perfect companion piece to The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch...

I really like the way the author, Dr. Reis, writes and especially appreciate the quotes throughout the book.
She reminds one how to make the most of life and how to deal with grief and loss along the route.
The last Chapter, the Epilogue makes it a worthwhile read and puts hope into our lives.
I was moved to purchase this book for a good friend who has a caring ministry.
