Something smells about many of these gushing reviews: click on "see all my reviews" and most have no other book reviews - even when they've allegedly read hundreds of health books. Is this believable?
Having pointed this out, this book is actually the most comprehensive, sensible and accurate book I have come across to date, and I have actually read hundreds of books on nutrition and health. Although it does not have anything additional to add or offer to what is already out there and available to the public, like other reviewers, I too have spent years accumulating health knowledge that Jon Barron has conveniently pulled together here.
HOWEVER, I also know that Barron is offering too much information and in just vague enough terms to make it difficult for anyone without encyclopedic knowledge to pull out the distilled minimum. Most who take this book seriously would have to use the MLM products formulated by the author - in the end, unfortunately, this book is simply a clever way to promote Barron's offerings - hence the many rave reviews without a single critical thing to say - I would bet good money that these reviews are from people who have joined his MLM scheme.
What a pity. The book could have been so much better if Barron had only used his knowledge with the true intention of helping us all. It could have been a diamond but it is, instead, a zirconia, a simulation.
Yes, buy the book for the information, but you will have to do a lot of research to find good quality products that will actually support your health - and if you follow all his suggestions you will have to spend a fortune. My minimum recommendation would be to follow the "intestinal cleansing" recommendations in chapter 3, since your body cannot properly use the expensive supplements until it becomes less toxic. Thereafter, I recommend "The Hidden Story of Cancer", a thoroughly researched nutritional anti-cancer program that can also help anyone improve their health. Quite easy to follow, once you get over the shock of learning that over half of current healthy-eating policies are nonsense...
Better to read a well-researched book called "Outsmart Your Cancer" - anything that can HEAL cancer is also a general healer and should be able to help much else in the body as well as "Trick and Treat" by Groves which turns modern eating advice on its head, backed up by plenty of evidence, and "Never Fear Cancer Again" by Raymond Francis, a brilliant distillation of what is truly needed for health. All 3 should be on the "top 10" of any list of books on health.
[Later note: Also impressed with the supplement Papaya 35, a super concentrate with fermented pawpaw.]

The Ultimate Book Health Reference, February 18, 2003
This review is from: Lessons from the Miracle Doctors (Paperback)
Jon Barron's Lessons from the Miracel Doctors is the single best abstract I have read in 30 years of investigating human health. It is the clearest discussion on what to look for in world class nutraceuticals. I even amaze myself making that statement, but it is true. I've been an avid student of alternative medicine for 30 years and have studied some of the best nutritional researchers in the world and complied a personal library on just about every published nutritionist alive or dead - Jon Barron cleanly summerizes what I have been studying for 30 years in his book. Lessons from the Miracel Doctors should be the first book you read, whether you are a health practitioner or just remotely intersted in a higher quality healthful life. It will be the single best investment you will ever make.

Cured My Thyroid - THANK YOU JON BARRON!!!, May 10, 2006
This review is from: Lessons from the Miracle Doctors (Paperback)
I followed the step-by-step principles in the book which were incredibly easy to follow and mainly just involved a few modifications in my diet. I could not believe it, but when I went back to the doctor, the test confirmed no thyroid antibodies. Of course, all the doctors could say was "we don't understand." I gave the book to two friends with cancer and it is now turning their cancer around. In fact, one friend would not let me have my book back when I asked for it! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this information.
