I found this book far more erotic in many places than other SM books. The whippings were not much different, but the innocense in her being disrobed or disrobing herself was a turn on for me. The episode in which the gardner bathed her naked body, and the episode where she was tied naked to a whipping horse and forced to urinate on herself was interesting. The party at which she was disrobed and caned was an erotic scene. The scene after her wedding, when she gave herself to the hero was highly erotic.

In a few places it dragged, but in general I found it an exceptionsl book of its kind.

Young girl seeks favor of a businessman (Mortensen) because of poor behavior of her boyfriend. She's afraid that if she does not "cooperate" with Mr. M's wishes, he will fire her boyfriend. She is slowly "brought along" little by little until she finally starts "cooperating" not because she trying to curry favor with Mr. M, but because she's actually liking the awakening of her new-found senses. Well written and a good story (which doesn't hurt either).

Yet another female author revealing in novel the innate desires of so many women to be taken and controlled, dominated, and made into the perfect whore. You cannot read this without getting an erection if a man or wet if a woman. The truth of this work and the form it is conveyed gives license to a more unabashed honesty of womanly desire to be consumed by male libido and sexuality. A vampiristic delight.

I used to formerly consider myself a natural dominant woman. I owe much of that thinking to really not feeling comfortable in a world that often tells women we must be completely indepedent and never let a man have control over us--for to do otherwise is somehow underminding to womanhood itself. Hence, often times I feel we women strugle to reconcile our true sexual feelings with the feministic expectations that are sometimes imposed by us, even when those directives are not readily seen.

About a year and a half ago, I began to really wake up to who I was and how subtle a control certain thinking had on me and other women. It really began at a fetish party, where there the theme of the night was maledom. At a subsequent event, the theme was femdom. What I noticed was that the maledoms and femsubs were somehow just more secure with themselves and not threatened by the theme that ran counter to their own lifestyle--even when they were being egged on. In contrast, at the maledom party, the femdoms were clearly agitated and at least two tried to impose their views on others, one attempting to "rescue" a femsub. To my shock, this incredible seductive, beautiful, and powerful--yes powerful--female submissive humiliated this would-be converter with a scathing psychological disection that could not have been more painful had it been a full fledged vivisection. No, this femsub was no push over--nor in any need of rescuing. When she left this femdom on the verge of tears and quite literally trembling out of her humiliation, this femsub walked with a dignified air and dutifully knelt down before her master, who gently caressed her air with tender lovingness. To put it mildly, I was most jealous. They seemed so secure and content, their love and bound to one another unshakable.

That one incident caused me serious pause as to what I was involved in and who were my friends, for the femdom in question was, I had considered at that time, a friend. But for what she had tried to do and how she carried on really revealed a horridly frail side, a fact which unfortunately is often replayed by numerous other femdoms in numerous settings, from fetish clubs, parties, and even online chat rooms. Some are genuinely terrified by the mere idea of a man having any sexual control, and moreover, these are not sexually traumatized women--these are just, IMHO, weak, frigthened females that play a big game and confuse reality with their role-play, the later serving to assuage their numerous hang-ups and baggage in the former, unescapable realm of life. That was certainly *NOT* who I wanted to be--or become. And I feared I was becoming one of these women. Already, one was married--and divorced twice--another 35 and still "single" and another one jusst so jaded and angry, first with men and then with everyone. I could not escape the conclusion that there is indeed something pathological with the femdom lifestyle that was all too often being encountered at too many places and by too many different women for it not to be a coincidence.

Moreover, for me, how can a woman truly call herself dominant and in control if she is not fully and completley free to feel she can do and indulge in the full tapestry of life. I have dominated men before. It is exciting and I loved the men I was with. But to then just be *only* that way and censor myself from trying it the other way or trying to have reinforced in my mind that for it to be the other way is wrong just shows the utter puerility behind the femdom ideology.

This was one of the first maledom books I read and honestly it got me so wet that I could not deny it what it was doing to me and how I was longing for a man to take charge over my body and mind.

I became obsessed with the wicked, now almost "taboo" thought of a man having his way with me and being at his mercy. When I finally met that man and submitted to him, I was so far gone into a multi-orgasmic rapturous blissful heaven that I knew I would never ever go back. I have never found such peace and contentment before sexually or otherwise than in submitting to a man. This book, "Lessons in Obedience" had that incredible power on my psyche.

Since my transformation, I know many "femdoms" were bitter with me and although they outwardly gave an approving nod and smiled, many felt threatened and later I learned trashed me behind my back saying I was really "sub" all along--but to "each his and her own" they would remark to your face yet sneer at you at the same time.

The funny thing? Two other "natural dominant" women I knew have had similar transformations. And one of them was also one who had snickered at me, calling me "sub all along" and professed her undying naturally born "dominant" status. Hmm... Makes you wonder if perhaps most femdom are really "sub all along" and just resisting and getting engrained in their ways when old age is catching up and there isn't much chance for the transformation they seek.

At any rate, Lucy Golden's work is masterful and as a woman, I love how she fully exposes a woman's natural submissive and even sadomaschomistic desires with unapologistic manner. It is a hauntingly erotic tale, one that is deeply psychologically moving and floods the senses from the inside out--from mind to body. I am sure it will be as much a turn on for you as it was for me--man and especially woman.

Lucy Golden weaves an interesting tale. The younger woman older man thing was definately an asset to the book as well as the English setting. This book is a quick page turner, exciting and true to the BD/SM lifestyle. A definately recommended reading for all lifestylers!

The best one of the genre since Sadopaideia and The Pearl, which I got in ... 1967 !

The story was good enough, kept me reading through the book. There is a certain amount of g/g to the story and it's a bit far fetched, but then, isn't most of it. There are parts of the story that redeem it and all in all i enjoyed it.
