4.0 out of 5 stars Archaeology supporting recent history and forensics, June 2, 2010

This review is from: Lessons From the Past: An Introductory Reader in Archaeology (Paperback)
This was the supplementary text for an intro to archaeology course I ended up dropping. Since I'll be signing up for the course again next spring, I decided to read it anyway.

Feder's out-of-print book reprints relatively recent articles about unusual archaeological applications in forensics, and in reconstruction of recent history, like combatant movements during the battle of the Little Bighorn.

The book gives you a general idea of more recent applications of archaeology. It's not just about dusty bones in a museum basement.
