5.0 out of 5 stars One thing is missing...
As an author, coach and speaker I read lots of books. The difference between the usual books I read and "Lessons in Stalking" by Dena Harris is that this one is very, very funny!

I was reading about grape benadryl and laughing so much that my son wanted to know what was going on. I read the story out loud to him and my wife and they found it a hoot too...

5.0 out of 5 stars One thing is missing..., June 14, 2006
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
As an author, coach and speaker I read lots of books. The difference between the usual books I read and "Lessons in Stalking" by Dena Harris is that this one is very, very funny!

I was reading about grape benadryl and laughing so much that my son wanted to know what was going on. I read the story out loud to him and my wife and they found it a hoot too.

Whether it's a cat foaming at the mouth, a husband trying to get the last of the foam off after a cat bath, or a couple doubling their pleasure(?) by adding a kitten, the personal vignettes penned by Dena Harris in "Lessons in Stalking" are entertaining, instructive, and very, very funny.

Whether you own a cat now, have owned cats in the past, or are trying to justify to your spouse why you absolutely can't get a cat this book is for you.

Oh yeah, it might even be for you if you want to get a cat.

I highly recommend "Lessons in Stalking" for you and all your cat friendly friends.

And the one thing that missing? That would be more stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, funny book, November 22, 2005
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
A must for all cat lovers. Lessons in Stalking is 20 of the funniest (and true) short stories on cat ownership. It's a quick read and great for anytime you'd like a little humor in your life. Dena has shared some very true, witty stories about being a pet owner -- and in particular, being a pet owner.

You're chortle at Never Feed a Cat Grape Benadryl, Kitty Jihad, Jingle Ball Horrors, Tacky Tape Sucks and other reasons why I can't own nice furniture. and Morning Revelry. But to be honest, they're all funny.

If you own a cat, buy this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little book, even if you don't own a cat!, October 11, 2005
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
I started to read this book and couldn't put it down. The humor is non-stop. Dena Harris is simply a wonderful writer and I don't even own a cat! I was giggling at the butt-wipe adventure when my husband walked in and I shared it with him. We both laughed and then I caught him reading later after I finished it. It's an easy read, I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a laugh or a great gift idea to friends with cats. Go Dena! Can't wait to read the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars "Lessons in Stalking--Adjusting to Life with Cats", February 18, 2008
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
Dena Harris sees things through clever, intelligent, very, very, witty eyes! I rarely laugh out loud while reading a book, but I did many, many times with this one! I got copies for all my friends and they also adored it. Before owning cats I would never have believed they could be so entertaining! However, Dena is the one who is really entertaining!

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed out loud!, October 31, 2005
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
This is a great, funny book. Anyone who shares their life with a cat will understand completely. It would make a wonderful gift for someone you know who has cats, the cat-person who has everything. It is comprised of short anecdotes, a quick read, illustrated with quirky, mischievous felines raising their havoc in our world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody Wants It, July 9, 2006

My husband bought this book for me because he knows I'm a cat lover, but it took me forever to read because everybody else kept stealing it. My daughter started taking it to school to read on the bus and said she'd give it back to me as soon as she was done. After a while I realized I hadn't seen the book for a while, so I asked my daughter what happened to it. She said her teacher saw it and "borrowed" it and was going to give it back to her as soon as she was done. It took me a month to get a turn with "Lessons In Stalking," but now that I finally have it, I understand why EVERYONE who picked it up couldn't put it down. What a wonderfully funny book!

There are several books similar to this one out there, but I think this one is by far the best. So many of the tales I could absolutely see my own cats doing very similar things. Both myself & my husband were rolling with laughter. I wish it would have been much longer!

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm a dog person and I love this book!, July 4, 2010
This review is from: Lessons in Stalking... Adjusting to Life with Cats (Paperback)
I'm a dog person and I love this book! I've only lived with one cat in my life, my former boyfriend's cat, but it was a pretty cool kitty. Dena Harris pegs everything there is to love about cats...and she skewers all their weird, frustrating and fully foibles!
I loved this book so much I bought a second copy for my neighbors at Christmas. They raved about it and wanted to know whether there were other books by this same author out there. I found out recently that she has another book coming out soon called Who Moved My Mousey? A Self-Help Book for Cats. I can't wait. I'm going to buy copies for every cat person in my life! Christmas shopping...done!!!
