Format: Hardcover
This mini-sized hardcover book is perfect for tucking into a purse, carrying in a glove compartment, or sliding into a yoga bag. It helps you remember to focus on what is important in life. You can make a practice of flipping it open to any page, to focus on the wisdom you're shown.

The book is about short sayings and simple turtle-based drawings. Even though the messages are short, they are very thought provoking. On one page the book asks "how did time-out become a punishment?" It is true - surely we all need a little time-out in our daily routine. Another page encourages "one thing at a time". In our multi-tasking world, that is something we can all remember.

I suppose I could nit-pick over a few of the entries. One says "don't worry about the other guy." I imagine what the turtle means is to dance as if nobody were watching - but still, the phrase bothers me a bit. I think it is a good thing to always want to help other people. On another page she says "wrinkle creams don't work as well as you hope they will." To me this goes against the page that says "it's hard to see your own beauty."

Still, in general the book has a number of great messages, and the turtle images are quite cute. I would give this to someone who is caught up in business, to remind them to slow down, smell the flowers, savor the special moments of each day.

Well recommended.

I am a lover of turtles! When I found this book and read it I knew I had to have it. It is full of good practical life advice and uses artwork featuring turtles to do it. It is smart, funny, and heart warming. Even my children loved it!
I have purchased several of them to give to my turtle loving friends. This is a must for turtle lovers of all ages!

This book was organized, page by page in order of my five children.
Couldn't believe how each little saying was just for them. So I bought
four more to go with the one found at Costco. The Lessons of a Turtle
became a big part of my Easter present to my children.
So far, all comments from them are as positive as mine.
Great Book!
Margaret

Sandy Gingras' LESSONS OF A TURTLE (THE LITTLE BOOK OF LIFE) provides a small book of cute little turtle drawings paired with 'life lessons', making for a fun gift. Where other affirmation books are serious, the whimsical little cartoon turtles invite rather than dictate, making this an excellent gift.

My children bought me this book for my birthday, because we had seen it in New Smyrna Beach at a shop, and they know that turtles are special to me. But this book goes way beyond that. It is a life from the view of a turtle. . .who can teach us more than what you might think. Each page speaks to me in a different way, means more than I initially expected. . .each time I read it, I am struck anew by its simple depth. I cannot recommend it highly enough. As I told my own readers, if I could buy this book for every woman in my life, I would do it. It's that good.

A cute little book to help you remember not to be to uptight, don't take yourself too seriously, and remember to have fun, relax, and remember what's important. It would make a nice gift. I read this in my chiropractor's office and decided to buy it for myself. It is directed toward women.

Beautiful and touching. If you have ever cared for a turtle you'll "get it" but if you just need a short book to help you focus on the simple things make this book a present to yourself.

This is another purchase for our beach house. I try to keep items there, especially books, that the kids will enjoy on a rainy day or a sunburn evening.
