More About the Author

Who Is Greg Laurie?

Greg Laurie is the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. He began his pastoral ministry at the age of 19 by leading a Bible study of 30 people.

Since then, God has transformed that small group into a church of some 15,000 people. Today, Harvest is one of the largest churches in America, and consistently ranks among the most influential churches in the country.

In 1990, Laurie began holding large-scale public evangelistic events called Harvest Crusades. Since that time, more than 4,219,000 people have attended Harvest Crusades events around the United States, and in Australia and New Zealand. More importantly, more than 350,300 people have registered professions of faith through these outreaches.

Laurie is the featured speaker of the nationally-syndicated radio program, A New Beginning, which is broadcast on more than 500 radio outlets around the world. A New Beginning is also one of the most popular Christian podcast downloads on Apple's iTunes Store.

Laurie was also a guest on CNN's Larry King Live in August of 2005, and he has appeared on many other television news programs. Along with his work at Harvest Ministries, Laurie serves on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse, among others. He holds honorary doctorates from Biola University and Azusa Pacific University.

In addition to speaking and assisting other ministries, Laurie has authored over 65 books including Hope for Hurting Hearts, For Every Season, The Greatest Stories Ever Told, Signs Of The Times, and God's Design for Christian Dating,What every Christian needs to know, to name just a few. His books have been translated into many languages, including Korean, Latvian, Portuguese, German, and Spanish.

His autobiography, Lost Boy, was released by Regal Books, is one of the best selling Christian biographies in recent times. The accompanying documentary film, Lost Boy: The Next Chapter, has won a number of awards at film festivals around the world.

He has written study notes for two Bibles in the New Living Translation: the New Believer's Bible and The Seeker's Bible. He was also the editor for the recently-released Start! Bible in the New King James Version, published by Thomas Nelson.

Radical Christian Living is Really Normal Christian Living (from the back cover)

What we often believe is normal Christian living is very different, in many ways, from what the Bible teaches. Laurie says that if you find the Christian experience dull and unfulfilling then maybe it's time for you to examine Jesus' teaching regarding discipleship.

Evangelist Greg Laurie calls all Christians back to radical. The blueprint is simply: Get to know Jesus, follow His plans for discipleship, and share God's truth with others.

Three key points are expanded on:

1. How to know God--and how He will change your life
2. Discipleship--the commitment, the cost, and the spiritual growth
3. Making Him known--sharing the gospel and making disciples

Sharing personal stories from his own life (his salvation story brought tears to my eyes) and others, Laurie writes in an engaging and compelling way while he teaches us what it means to truly live the Christian life the way God intended.

If your Christian life seems flat and boring, then reenergize it. Pick up a copy of Greg Laurie's book, LET GOD CHANGE YOUR LIFE today.

From the introduction: "How can we expect to fulfill the Great Commission to go into all the world and make disciples if we don't know what it means to be a disciple ourselves?"
To me this is a great question. It is probably a question that many in the Church cannot adequately answer, because in all honesty they do not know what they believe, much less what it means to be a disciple of Christ Jesus.
In Let God Change Your Life Greg Laurie focuses on basic 101 Christianity.
When Jesus told the disciples in Matthew 28:19-20 NIV,
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
When Jesus asked them to, "go and make disciples." It was not a request, but a command. It is also a command for us as well, in telling and in living out our lives the faith that we profess in Jesus Christ.
Greg Laurie leads the reader through basic Christian doctrine for the goal of spreading the Gospel to others.
Yes, there were things I read in this book that I knew, but I was convicted about a few things as well. Conviction is not a word that grown-ups like, it makes us feel defensive like little children before an angry parent. But, conviction is a good thing, it is actually freeing, and if we remain teachable and not defiant, we can learn something that will produce the fruit of maturity.
There were several great quotes from the book such as:
"For every person there will come a last meal, a last breath, and of course, last words. And in many ways, what we say in the end is a real insight into who we were in life, what we stood for, and what we lived for. Generally we die as we lived.

What an amazing life changing book from one of America's best pastors. Everyone should read this book and seek GOD as Laurie suggests. Good sound Christian doctrine without any fluff.
If you don't already have one, download a good Bible then download this book and read them both. No one is promised tomorrow. Accept JESUS as your Lord and Savior before it is to late.

Very easy to read and understand. One of my favorite things about this book is the scriptures Pastor Laurie quotes throughout the book. The only downside is trying to decide which book to order due to the wide selection. But that's a "good downside".

Greg Laurie has written a great book; Let God Change Your Life: How to Know and Follow Jesus. This is definitely not a book for just non-believers or new believers. This is a book that every believer should read. Laurie challenges us to take a long, hard look at the Christian life we're living. "What often is perceived as the Christian life is, in many ways, not what the Bible teaches. Are you really living the Christian life as Jesus meant for you to live it? If your Christian experience feels dull and unfulfilling, then it's time to seriously examine Jesus' teaching regarding discipleship. Radical Christian living is really normal Christian living." There is so much more to this life that we're living than the way we're living it. It causes me to seriously look into my own life and reexamine how I'm living my own life in light of how God truly called me to live it. Laurie takes on three aspects of our relationship with and following Christ;

* How to Know God
* Discipleship
* Making Him Known

Laurie takes us on a logical progression of how we should be living our lives. He begins right where it's needed the most; the heart. What we find throughout the pages of this book is how to live the Christian life based in the Bible. Laurie's book is a challenge and one that shouldn't be taken lightly. "'Are you a laborer in the harvest?' Laurie asks. 'The complainers are many. The observers are many. The spectators are many. The critics are many. But the laborers are few. We need laborers in the harvest. Will you become one?' Let God Change Your Life is a bold challenge to Christians everywhere to rethink their lives in terms of dynamic New Testament living."
