I would recommend this book to everyone. It is one we could all internalize and benefit from greatly. I had already heard Brother Williams' story at a conference I went to. I had seen the short video. I loved both but thought I had probably already heard it all since it is such a short book. I accidently downloaded it on my kindle and decided to go ahead and read it rather than returning it. I am so glad I did. There is so much more to his story. I didn't think I could be more impressed with this man, but I was. Really though, I was impressed with how he expressed the healing power of the atonement through, not only this tragedy but through many other trials he faced as well. It is a wonderful testimony of the power of the atonement - one of the best I've ever read. Thank you, Brother Williams, for sharing a very personal testimony to all who will listen/read. As a teacher and one who is all to often asked to speak, I am sure I'll be sharing Brother Williams' story and testimony because I see how much it has uplifted and inspired me. I know through his example I find it much easier to "let it go". What a tremendous blessing that is!

I picked this up to read in a Deseret book while waiting for my mom to run an errand. I was gripped from the start. I was weeping unabashedly unable to even fathom this man's s experience and his ability to focus on not only his pain but the pain of the young man who hit them and his family. He could have become bitter and angry and demanded retribution but he saw the bigger picture and is a happier person for not going that route and when he honored his beautiful wife and children by asking people if they wanted to help then to forgive someone or perform an act of kindness or share your love with your loved ones and for Valentine's day and to send those stories to his surviving children I was undone. If you read only one book this year-even in your life- i cannot recommend this more highly. It will change your life. If you want to go further donate a few copies to a jail or juvenile center in your area and spread the possibility of changing lives that might otherwise be lost. But read this book. A must-read is the understatement of the year.

I just saw the author and the young man speak on the Glenn Beck show (Aug 15, 2012). This is an amazing story of forgiveness and moving on with your life. Both individuals are now helping others to forgive others, themselves, and to move on. I can't say enough, what an amazing, touching story. I'm now going to order the book to read.

Very well written, I couldn't put the book down. I am honored to have known Chris from previous employment and so when I read this book, I could see the genuine Chris I knew. My heart aches for the pain he has endured. It's an amazing story of forgiveness and faith, and although, we don't share the same religious beliefs, I know he was guided and inspired... it gives me hope.

Most of us in Utah know the story of Chris Williams and how his wife and 2 of his children were killed by a teenager who was driving drunk. However, I had never heard the "rest of the story" about his forgiveness of the young man, and the healing processes of himself and his 2 boys, one of whom was so injured he didn't know his Mom, brother and sister were killed in the accident. This is a wonderful book. Although Chris is LDS (Mormon) the teachings about Christ and His Atonement fit everyone. (He explains the few terms inherent in the LDS Church so someone who is not LDS will understand.) This book is helping me in my own healing process, and I am buying several more to send to friends. Thank you Chris for writing this wonderful book!

I first heard this story five years ago when Chris Williams lost four members of his family in a drunk driving accident. It hit me very strongly because I could not imagine having the immediate response he did--that of forgiveness toward the driver. Chris issued a statement to the press of knowing right after impact that he had to forgive the person who killed his wife and children. He showed absolute kindness and selflessness in the way he handled the days following the crash. Chris Williams is an amazing example of being Christlike and integrating what he believes in the midst of his tragedy. When put through the agonizing press of personal loss, he lived what he knew to be true, and followed the footsteps of the Savior. Reading his memoir was heart wrenching. I think Mr. Williams is incredibly brave to write this down to share it with the world. The image on the front cover is so powerful- as victim and driver sit down on a park bench to talk. (a real shot from the video titled "Forgiveness, My Burden Was Made Light.")

Grab a box of Kleenex while reading this book. I had to take it in small segments because of the descriptions and the anguish felt. Yet, on the flip side, any reader can see how Chris has a very personal relationship with Christ. He got answers to his prayers in overcoming a tremendous burden and trial. This book and videos would be an excellent victim impact lesson. One that I wish I would have had when teaching DUI classes to drug and alcohol clients. It is true to life about how drunk driving has life-altering consequences. Let It Go left a lasting impression on me to drive-- even as a sober drive-- more alert and attentive--to not be distracted in any way while on the road. It also made me want to align my life with the teachings of the Savior and His atonement.
