Queenie returns to Blackburn when her friend Sheila is imprisoned for running a brothel. While visiting Sheila, Queenie is asked by a frail old lady for news of her long-lost son. Queenie sets out to find him, little knowing that Rick Marsden, the love she fled from, is searching for her.
