Let Me Call You Sweetheart, by Mary Higgins Clark, was well written, but was not her best book. I found myself getting confused by the continuous scene changes. I enjoyed the book, but I have read better. This mystery had a good plot and Clark was very descriptive. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes mysteries, but before reading this I would try one of Clark's other books.

LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART is definetly a thriller thet I will never forget. From the moment you start it till the last page I was sucked into the life of Kerry McCgrath as she unravels the winding twisted mystery of the murder of Suzzanne Reardon, which happened almost 10 years before. At her daughters appointment at her plastic suergen she sees a fimiliar face on TWO different woman this makes her quite suspitios and as she gets closer to the answer the more and more danger she puts herself in.....

I recently read this, and I could not put it down! It was extremely gripping and very exciting. As a resident the area of Bergen County where the book takes place, it was also a lot of fun to read about my home. It's kind of exciting to think that people in California are reading about your area!

The plot centers around Kerry McGrath, whose daughter, Robin, must go to plastic surgeon Charles Smith after a car accident. This leads to Kerry's reopening of a ten-year-old murder case. Her investigation is helped by a man named Geoff Dorso, the lawyer of the convicted in that case. It's a truly thrilling read.

With elements of suspense, romance and humor, this book is perfect for any fan of mysteries! Or just any Bergen County resident. :0)

This was the first Mary Higgins Clark book I've read. I've had it laying around the house forever and just never seemed in the mood. Then, today, I ran out of anything else to read and picked it up. I couldn't put it down and read it in about 3 hours. Ms. Clark kept me interested in the plot twists the entire time. I couldn't wait to see what happened. It makes me want to read some of her other books.

Once again Mary Higgins Clark has penned a suspense that rivits you to the edge of your seat and has you bitting your nails. As with all Ms. Clark's novels this supurb offering will be read and reread by fans, old and new. Just as you think you know the identity of the culprit the plot thickens and you are again mistified. Another great read by the Queen of suspense.

This book was very good. I really enjoyed reading it. Although it starts off slow and out of nowhere, the plot thickens and it is a big surprise at the end. Suzanne Reardon, a wealthy woman, is murdered. Over her body are sweetheart roses, hence the name. Her husband was convicted of the murder. He is in jail for at least 30 years without parole. Ten years later, Kerry Magrath and her daughter are in Dr. Smith's office, for a plastic surgery counseling. Kerry sees a Suzanne Reardon look-alike. She looks into Dr. Smith and finds out he is Suzanne's father. This leads up to a number of other suspects including Jonathan Hoover, Jimmy Weeks and others that may have had interest in Suzanne. It leads up to the end where Dr. Smith is murdered as well. Kerry then finds out who the killer is, but not soon enough. She goes to the killer's house and she and Robin are to be killed until someone who couldn't before helps them. I recommend this book to anyone who is willing to stick with it and loves a good mystery story.

I loved the first couple of novels by Higgins Clark, but her style has grown stale and shallow. I found myself laughing out loud in disbelief with this one. The characters are sketchy and cardboard. The dialogue is so mundane and artificial I found myself wondering why she bothered with it. Clark's strengths are in her plot lines and her pacing. But with boring dialogue and shallow characterization, I just don't find myself caring about the characters by the end of the story. This will be the last one I bother reading.

Once the woman had left, Kerry went over to the receptionist and explained that she thought she might know the lady who just came out of the doctor's office. Who was she? The name Barbara Tompkins, however, meant nothing to her. She must have been mistaken. Still, when she sat down again, an overwhelming sense of déjá vu filled her mind. The effect was so chilling, she actually shivered."

Her husband, the most likely culprit, pled innocent but was found guilty and was now serving a life sentence in jail. But was there a miscarriage of justice? Will Kerry put her career and even the lives of herself and her daughter in jeopardy to free a man who might have been wrongly convicted of murder?
Clark, the named and acclaimed Queen of Suspense, creates an irresistible rubics cube of characters and different plots. All of her books drag you into the story. When you think you've found the villain after meeting each character, at the end the most unexpected person turns out to be the culprit. This is an entrancing story of love and hate, redemption and revenge, truth and deception, and friendship and enemies. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a story with multiple plots with a climax that pulls everything together for an amazing and unexpected conclusion.

i think the best thing about this book is that how you keep changing your mind. first, you're positive it's dr. smith. then, it's definetely jimmy weeks. then you consider other possibilities. or is it really chip? but no, all these things come up, and you settle for what you least expected. and the reason i gave it 4 stars is because it's an all-event book, not the kind you can write a book report on. but it doesn't mean it's action action action. it's very decent and well balanced, and great for passtimes.

Let me call you sweetheart is a good story, but it could have connected a little more. The reader was left with a disjointed feeling. The main distraction from the story was the constant chapter change. A chapter should be longer than two pages or it interrupts the flow of the story. This book was also not as suspenseful as I had been led to believe and the only mystery is the identity of the killer. The killer was not set up early enough in the story for it to ring as true as it could have. It is not impossible to believe it, but you wish part of the earlier story had given some suspicion to that character's guilt. It just became a possibility at the end of the book, when the rest of the book was almost devoted to two other suspects, with sprinkling of a a few others. This is a good story---but if you are a fan of intense suspense it will leave you wanting.. All in all I would recommend this story for anyone 12 to 18. It won't give them nightmares, and for a young audience I'm sure it will be a suspenseful.
