A Wonderful Album of songs! The title track alone is worth every penny spent on the entire album. As Bassey fans, you know what I mean. I purchased this CD because there are songs on it I don't have in other collections, and may I say, I love it. She's the best!

The Best Shirley Bassey Compilation around. It includes some of her best work (Diamonds..., Something & The Fool On The Hill), I've never seen 'Let Me Sing & I'm Happy' on any other collection before, it's a great song. Other special songs: (Don't Cry For Me Argentina) taken from "The Magic Is You" album & her rendition of (Send In The Clowns) tops all the other versions I heard!

This CD is an important release as it is still the only CD in the market to contain my favourite Bassey song "Until It's Time For You To Go" taken from my favourite Bassey album "Something Else" (1971) which remains unavailable in its entirety on CD. In my opinion, the Bassey voice reached its peak of perfection in 1970 and 1971 with the release of "Something" and "Something Else". EMI UK should release these 2 fine albums back-to-back on 1 CD in their Two On One series.Other highlights on this CD are the title track which can make you visualise Bassey performing the brassy number live, "The Fool On The Hill" which outperformed the Beatles original version on the British charts and last but not least, an innovative ballad version of "Alone Again (Naturally)". Unfortunately, there is a bad version of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" which was recorded in 1978 long after the Bassey voice has lost its sensitivity and what emerged was a truly emotionless reading of the tune in a too-low key . The song was lifted from the album "The Magic Is You" and the entire album was performed that way and in that key! But 1 bad song out of 16 is still a good bargain.
