5.0 out of 5 stars Anubian Lights - 'Let Not The Flame Die Out' (Hypnotic), December 22, 2003
This being the Anubian Light's third release,it just may very well be their best.'Let Not...' is modern day space rock with a middle eastern twist to it.Does the formula work? You bet your wetnaps it does!I've listened to this fourteen track disc MANY times and I still find it a blast to hear. The Tommy Grenas/Len Del Rio team seems to have created quite a piece of music here.Grenas does the guitar, bass, moog, samples, and keyboards while Del Rio is responsible for the main keyboards, programming, and loops.Several guests appear on this record.Gong's Gilli Smyth puts some planetary magic into "One Eye To The Sky" while long time Hawkwind violinist Simon House lends a helping hand to the trippy "Frequency Of Sands".Nik Turner steps in to add some sax and flute work on "Broken Entranceway","Mutashaker",and the somewhat jazzy "Atoms Of The Gods".Still, plenty of other goodies, like "The Fire Breathes","South Of Dashur","As Seen In 822 A.D.",and "Vision Of A New Homeland".As a whole,'Let The...' is guaranteed to provide the listener with some good old fashioned temporary brain damage.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wild Mix That Works, October 3, 2000

Imagine electronica and space rock, blended with Middle Eastern samples and melodies, rhythms ranging from techno trance to bossa nova to surf rock, whip it all together into one delicious melange, and you can get a fair idea of what this album sounds like. Great stuff from Tommy and Len and friends (amongst them, members of Hawkwind and Gong). Even better than the first Anubian Lights CD!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, February 18, 1999
Electro-Egyptian trance-dance. Less ambient than their other releases, this is still pretty spacy. Cerebral and fun. Would make great music for an interplanetary bar.
