Beautiful Religious Cross Stich Book,
By Maria Alvarado (San Jose, Costa Rica) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Let Us Pray (Christmas Remembered, Book 13) (Hardcover)
I find it is a bit difficult to obtain readily published cross stitch works with religious or faith-related content. While this book has projects that do a beautiful job of linking Bible scriptures to images, several of them could be used for projects without the Bible texts; such as Lady Liberty, a beautiful Abundant Thanksgiving adaptation of a table full of fruits, 3 gorgeous Children of God designs (with small old-fashioned girls,) a bride, or a Guardian Angel looking over a boy and a girl. There are also some literal adaptations of Jesus such as Jesus at Gethsemane, Come Little Children and The 23rd. Psalm. Several projects revolve specifically around scriptures and include a beautifully laid out Lord's Prayer (topped by praying hands,) St. Francis of Assisi's Canticle of Brother Sun (with the sun and the moon above,) a playful Noah's Ark for a child's bedroom, several Herb Garden projects (including a book mark, a bread hoder, and a towel,) a sweet sampler with flowers and pink lettering, several flower and garden themed projects, and Amazing Grace with a rose vine entwined around it. It is a book that is very thoughtfully put together and is worth having in your cross stitch library.

Cross-stitch patterns with a Christian theme,
By A Customer
This review is from: Let Us Pray (Christmas Remembered, Book 13) (Hardcover)
There are quite a few good patterns in here, with an interesting way of adding a different dimension to the final product. But the pattern that really caught my attention is that of Jesus at Gethsemane. You have to see it to feel the powerful impact.
