With albums from singing preachers you can guarantee the word of God will be strong and presented dynamically, but you can't always count on the music arrangements to carry that same fervency. In the case of Paul Morton however, the combination exists better then I've seen in years. Apparently, Paul Morton is not your average singing preacher. There's no way I can say enough about this album in just a few words. The title song "Let it Rain" sums up the energy of the whole album. Songs like this that can raise the spirit and send people into the isles in worship with a simple phrase are truly anointed selections.
The song selection is what's most impressive about this album. I love when artist are bold enough to include some traditional gospel selections, which must be an executive battle in today's entertainment driven gospel music industry. The songs like "God is a Good God" sound like they come straight out of Sunday service. Paul Morton has extraordinary vocal skills, which support this album and a stage presence that just invites the spirit of God into the listener. The feature song for me is not the title track, but instead its "I Need thee". Outside of the additional verse, it's done in the traditional arrangement. This song is powerful, avoid listening to it at work unless you don't mind shouting at your station. From the opening of this song I immediately felt like I've been waiting all my life for a preacher to sing this song on record.
Paul Morton's most important accomplishment with this album is that it comes across as personal. Each song feels like a testimony from the life of Paul Morton. Many time's albums produced by television ministries do not carry the same spiritual connection with the ministry leader as you get from watching him minister.

Okay..maybe I'm just a little bit biased, because I am apart of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, and Bishop Morton is my bishop...plus some of my church members were a part of the choir when this was recorded, but this CD really brings you into the presence of God. And yes, Prince gets credit for "Let it Rain." but that's not what's important...what's important is that God's word got out, and helped us to understand "the rain." Needless to say, I have the DVD and I watch it at least once a week. My favorite song is "Because of who You Are." That song does it for me. You'll also loooooove FGBCF's version of Lauren Hill's "On That Day." AWESOME WORD!!!!! It deserves more than 5 stars!!!

For years we have heard the expreesion when it rains it pours. However the expression was right but the context was wrong. As we were taught that rain was bad, trouble, sickness, etc. However Bishop Morton teaches on this album, that rain is not trouble, but it is the blessings of God. The word of God says I will open the windows of Heaven and POUR out a blessing. Let it rain will pour blessings into your life. From track 1 to track 10, you will engage on a musical journey with Bishop Morton like never before. It has the right blend of praise, & traditional music to keep even the most casual fan happy.

An exellent cd from the had clappin' feet stompin' God is a good God to the worshipful High Praise. Every cut is well done and full of Glory to God! Exellent. I am a mass choir memebr and my Church choir sings several tunes from this cd.

I love God, and the title song is anointed and on fire. But my musical taste goes beyond the Church and I recognized the music (not the lyrics) as closely inspired by the song "Purple Rain" by Prince. I recognized that music right away while working on a project at a church where it was playing. I don't want to lecture anyone but I believe God can use any vessal to bring about something that will bless and edify not only "Gods people" but "The World". The "Purple Rain" version is about two people who care about each other and are faced with
the coming apocalypse and one is confessing their love and asking forgivenes for past wrongs. Red and Blue make the color purple. As blood and carnage ravage the earth and rises to the sky which represents love and peace and is blue, it rains down on the two lovers "Purple Rain" and brings about a cleansing and redemption. Yes that is how some secular artist had to be creative and hide spiritual meanings in their songs. mainly because of nervous record company execs who insist they know what the public wants and to appear PC. The original composer can not do a concert without playing this song, which I am sure will be the same problem or blessing Bishop Morton will have when he and his choir are in concert. Because regardless of where this music came from or who it came thru .. it is anointed!!
