4.0 out of 5 stars B Sides Make The Single, September 9, 2005
By
Jeremy Fist (Portland, ME USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Let It Ride (Audio CD)
Aside from the strength of the title single, the two album worthy B-sides make this an imperative purchase for any Ryan Adams fan. "So Hot, So Cold" is a cruchy distorted laden track that sounds like a Rock N Roll out take. Ryan's growl and layers of distortion sell the song. Track 3, "Operator, Operator" is a short catchy tune with wailing sugary sweet pop lyrics. Although the two tracks have been issued as B-sides, they're strong enough to populate space on an album but different enough to not fit into the enviornment of Cold Roses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great B-side, July 27, 2007
This review is from: Let It Ride (Audio CD)
Let It Ride is a great song from Adams' "Cold Roses" album, but the real reason to buy this single is the B-side "So Hot, So Cold." It definitely wouldn't have fit on "CR," but it's a fun, punkish rocker that finds Adams distorting his voice into a whine you almost won't recognize. Maybe would have fit on "Rock n Roll" if you like that album. Check it out.
