It is absolutely beautiful!

Perhaps someday, without the passions and dedication of the authors and other like minded individuals, many of those creatures will exist only in our imagination.

Once one reads this book, he/she will see just how fortunate we are to have this beautiful river free-flowing.

I don't know them all, hence the question mark, but I think this may be it. Abernethy's narrative is excellent, and Van Dellen's river photos are the best river images I've ever seen. He's a paddler as much as a photographer, and he captures not just the look but the feel of being on the Neches, which happens to be a river I grew up with and know very well. Some of the 15" x 30" landscape spreads are nothing short of amazing. This is a haunting and memorable book.

A beautiful book & wonderful documentary about the Neches River. I recommend this book to everyone, especially nature lovers. We as a society are destroying much of nature every day. To dam this river up and destroy its basin would be shameful. Once one reads this book, he/she will see just how fortunate we are to have this beautiful river free-flowing.
