5.0 out of 5 stars Let it SCREAM!!!, August 1, 2004
When you think of the music in 1991, it's very possible that your stomach gets a lil woozey when thoughts of the 3rd round of Hair Metal starts entering your brain. Bands like FireHouse, Nelson, Trixer and the like helped make Seattle look really ~REALLY~ cool, but there was one last great band to come out of LA in the early 90's and that band was The Scream!
Led by John Corabi, The Scream put together a near perfect album filled with Rock, Blues, blood, sweat, and emotion. The Album immediatly catches your attention with the rocker "Outlaw" and then hooks you in with the very catchy "Believe in me". Another song that will be in your head for days is "Loves got a Hold on Me", also "Never Loved her Anyway" is one of the coolest songs to date! One song on the disc that I have to mention is "Father, Mother, Son", if your not careful the track just might bring a tear or two by the end.
For me, the albums stand out track is the song "Man in the Moon" which to this day IS STILL my All Time favorite song (Check out the live version w/ Corabi's later band Union on the CD "Live at the Galaxy").
The only miss on the CD is the song "You are all I Need" and that song isn't really bad, in fact the Versus are actually really good, just the chorus isn't up to par with the rest of the CD.
I really can't recommend this CD enough...Let it Scream is everything great about that era in Music, and shows how great the music of the 90's could have been...if not for Firehouse and Trixter ruining it for everybody*
Let it Scream = AAAAA+++++
PS: CORABI RULES!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Rock Album of the '90s, January 25, 2005
By M. Verdi (Richmond, VA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Let It Scream (Audio CD)
I am not a very wordy reviewer, and I do not need to be with this CD. Just buy it and it will speak for itself. The musicianship is excellent and the songs are timeless. I purchased this in 1991 when it first came out (being a Racer X fan), and was blown away. This was more my style than Racer X, more bluesy and rockin' than just speed. Incredible vocals, stylish guitar riffs and leads, and solid rhythms. I had no doubt that I would see this band in concert and watch them rise to the top. In 1991, most "hair" bands were on the way out and grunge was around the corner. The Scream could have easily become one of the most popular bands of the 90s, despite grunge. I was very disappointed when John Corabi left to join Motley Crue. At that time, I thought 'a great move for the Crue, bad move for The Scream', but unfortunately John lost on both counts. The Crue are a great band, but John should have stayed with The Scream. Much like Gary Cherone should have stayed with Extreme. Both guys joined bands that were going downhill and used the "new vocalists" as scapegoats for their failures. That's okay, though, because we know that the true John Corabi was with The Scream. I would love to see them reunite.
Anyway, I have digressed. Did I say I wasn't a wordy reviewer? So, to summarize, anyone who is a rock music fan should buy this album. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top-Notch Straight-Up Metal, August 31, 2001
This review is from: Let It Scream (Audio CD)
This CD should have been a MONSTER seller and all over the airwaves when it was first released. John Corabi is an awesome frontman and went on to further prove himself in Motley Crue and Union. And the band here scorches and smokes behind him. There's truly something for everyone here: shuffling back-porch blues ("Never Loved Her Anyway,"), sensitive but never sappy ballads ("Mother, Father, Son"), funkified rock ("Tell Me Why") and lots of full-burn, straight-ahead metal reminiscent of early prime Van Halen ("Outlaw," "Catch Me If You Can"). If you're a fan of good old hard-edged rock/metal with groove, melody and attitude to spare, you can't afford to pass this one up!
