4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, September 25, 2001

I took a trip to England and Wales back in 1990 and the song "Dub Be Good To Me" was very popular over there. I figured since I liked the song I might as well pick up the album to find out what all the hype was about. When I got back to the States I threw the record on and was mesmerized. The beats alone blew me away. It is a unique blend of African Beats, House Music, Percussion and Latin Music all rolled up in a ball and thrown against the wall to give you that special sound. Of course the brains behind this outfit was none other than Mr. Norman Cook. You may know him as Fatboy Slim. He's come a long way from The Housemartins of the 80's to Beats International of the 90's to his work as Fatboy Slim in the 90's and on. Beats International released one more album before folding for good in 1991. That album has been forgotten. Though one track "Echo Chamber", wound up on a recent Fatboy Slim Greatest Hits Compilation. The great songs on LET THEM EAT BINGO are as follows. "Burundi Blues", "Dub Be Good To Me" (which was a major dance hit in the 80's by the S.O.S. Band entitled Just Be Good To Me), "Before I Grow Too Old", "The Ragged Trousered Percussionists", "Won't Talk About It" and my favorite track "For Spacious Lies". If you see this album pick it up. It's one of the greatest dance records of all time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious bass lines..., June 18, 1999

No kidding, thanks to the critic below I am now safe in the knowledge that so much juvenile talent did not get completely wasted. "Dub be good to me" was just too groovy for its times, and I was recently happily surprised to find it in an otherwise forgettable compilation called (or rather dubbed) UK Soul 90s. Hot stuff for a nostalgic summer, could this please be 1990 again?
