Montreux's "Let Them Say" is a perfect example of a CD you can listen to when you don't know what you want to listen to. Montreux was Windham Hill's all-star group, consisting of pianist Barbara Higbie, guitarist Mike Marshall, bassist Michael Manring, violinist Darol Anger and percussionist Tom Miller. While "Let Them Say," the group's second and final CD, was officially a New Age work, its appealing jazz-rock edge makes it much more compelling than most New Age albums, standing up excellently to repeat listening. My favorite cut is the sinuous, mysterious "Barbara's Dream," but there isn't a bad cut on the album. Windham Hill should do us all a favor and put this CD back into print immediately.
