old habits die hard,

Raised on country music in the heart of Mississippi, I thought I had been educated right out of EVER listening to it again--but boy, did this recording send me scurrying back to my roots! I first heard a cut from it on Public Radio while driving home from Dallas, and I didn't rest until I owned it. That was 6 years ago, and it is still one of my favorites--right alongside the Kathleen Battle/Jessye Norman collaboration and my classical instrumental collection. Kate's voice is clear, pure, and timeless--and this music is just flat-out "feel-good" rockin' old-time bluegrass with a modern edge. Allow yourself the pleasure of this experience! You won't regret it!

I loved this album. Kate Mackenzie could sing Big Band and sound great. I thourughly enjoyed her swing tunes which really are done well as bluegrass tunes. Also the backup musicians read like a who's who of Blugrass. This is a must have for any Blugrasser to have in their collection.
