Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Women want to live lives that count, says popular author and speaker Partow (Becoming the Woman I Want to Be and This Isn't the Life I Signed Up For). "All we have to do is let God work through us," she says. Partow runs with this thought and encourages Christian women to take small, steady steps toward the goal. She tells women to begin praying, not begging God for opportunities but instead listening to what He has to say. She also urges them to ask God to "show [them] what to do today," find their "holy compulsion," "do it afraid" (serve in spite of their fears) and "develop a marathon mentality." Partow's voice shines through her own and others' stories, as she sprinkles her anecdotes with doses of humor and forthrightness. She goes overboard with constant references to her Web site, but her sincerity overshadows this minor annoyance. Chapters are accompanied by "Remember," "Reflect" and "Reach" sections, plus a prayer, to help women cement Partow's plan in their minds. She also includes Key Point/Scripture cards to cut out as reminders. Partow's love for God and women is evident throughout, so women looking for hope and a good kick in the pants will find it here. Praise for Let Your Life Count

“Donna Partow is a stick of dynamite for the soul sick and tired of being stuck in the mundane. For every woman who has ever wanted to do something significant for God, Let Your Life Count is a book for you. Donna not only challenges women to rise up and take their place in the Kingdom, she encourages them to allow the Lord to take their ordinary lives and make something extraordinary out of everything they do.”
Joanna Weaver, best-selling author of Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World

“Like healing salve on a wounded heart, Let Your Life Count will change lives. We all long to make a difference for God. Donna Partow combines vulnerability and boldness, with the strong foundation of Scriptural truth, to help us on the journey of finding our purpose.”
Allison Gappa Bottke, speaker, and author of God Alllows U-Turns and debut novel, A Stitch in Time

“If you want to shine for Jesus, read Let Your Life Count. Donna Partow writes a roadmap of the life every Christian should aspire to live. Convicting and convincing…superb wisdom and communication shines through. Your personal walk with Christ won’t be the same.”
Wayne Atcheson, Christian Writers Guild

Let Your Life Count is another zinger from Donna Partow. Every chapter challenges both my thinking and my actions. Donna has something to say to everyone: the new Christian, the seasoned believer, and the still-searching. Her stories about real people, her examination of Scripture, and practicality make Let Your Life Count a catalyst for growth, beyond your average devotional or study book. She seems to be able to put her finger on ‘the next thing you should consider’ in your faith journey. Her excitement jumps right off the page. It’s a ‘shake you out of your complacency’ book.”
Nancy Karpenske, contributing editor of Christian Standard magazine and director of women’s ministry at LifeBridge Christian Church, Longmont, Colorado

Format: Paperback
Donna Partow, author of several bestselling books for women and previous speaker on the Women of Faith tour, has an uncommon gift of sharing truth with a gentle one-two punch. She lives her Christian life with a transparent ease many would love to emulate, yet she is quick to dismiss any "successes" as deriving from personal power. Rather, Partow repeatedly reminds her readers that she lives day to day on God's strength alone. On the foundation of these honest admissions, she tells women that they can make a significant difference right now, beginning today.

Partow, whose own pre-conversion past included drugs and promiscuity, exhorts women to look beyond their previous failings, disappointments and limitations to fully embrace today as an unopened gift ripe with possibility. With God as the infuser of hope, purpose and enabling strength, every woman's life can count for today and for eternity, and the author shows readers how it's done. In her 21-mini-chapter text, she opens her study by explaining the difference between "letting" one's life count and "making" it count. Says Partow: "'to make' is all about driving ourselves and everyone around us bonkers." Whereas "'to let' is to yield and give way and to let God have it his way."

Following this distinctive premise, Partow invites readers to store away each chapter's message via a three-step process designated the three "R's": remember (sums up the takeaway truth), reflect (an introspective question or two) and reach (a proactive choice or action to make life count for today). Closing out each segment is a brief yet powerful prayer that zeros in on the specific subject.

Format: Paperback
Donna comes thru with another power and uplifting book for women. Her writing style is once again fun and down-to-earth, yet it delivers a dramatic punch not to be missed! Each chapter ends with 3 sections: Remember, Reflect and Reach. Remember summarizes the main part of the chapter, Reflect asks thought provoking questions and Reach tells the reader how they can apply the concepts of the chapter to the world around them.

I have yet to find a Donna Partow book I do not like, but this book is one of my favorites! I highly recommend this book to any woman who needs a spiritual uplifting in mind and spirit.
