Book Description

For Lee Child, Robert Ludlum, and Clive Cussler Fans

**This book contains the FIRST COMPLETE SEASON, episodes 1-7, of the Michael Chase Circuit Series**

Make no mistake: The sky will fall.

The Third Reich created many lethal weapons.
But none as lethal as this.

A lifetime ago, the invention of a radical new technology allowed the Nazis to nearly win the Second World War. Now, nearly 70 years later, the technology that would have resulted in Hitler's victory is about to be revealed to the world. If it is, everything that we know will be transformed forever.

The Green Dragon Group will stop at nothing to keep this from happening. Watching events unfold from high above Tokyo, the Green Dragons are good at keeping secrets. Since their first meetings in the days of the Samurai they've kept their radical beliefs hidden while keeping a firm grip on global power. And the Dragons have hidden more than their beliefs. They've also hidden the secret Nazi technology from the prying eyes of the outside world.

But as everybody knows, nothing stays hidden forever.

Nobody understands this better than Michael Chase. Michael came to Hong Kong to find his missing father. Now, caught in the crossfire on the wrong side of the tracks, Michael finds himself staring down the first clue to his father's whereabouts.

Michael, however, isn't alone. Crouched in the shadows, Kate Shaw watches. Her mission is to find the Nazi weapon and she intends to use Michael to help her, with or without his consent.

Together, they travel to mainland China in a race to unravel a global conspiracy and learn the truth about the hidden Nazi device. But they need to be careful and they need to work quickly. Because they aren't the only ones looking. And if they don't hurry, the technology that has remained secret for so long will rain down from above, killing millions of innocent men, women, and children in the process.

Michael and Kate can stop this from happening. But only if they can work together. And only if they can stay alive.

From the Author

I want to use this space to thank everybody for their support. I have corresponded with many of you regarding Michael Chase and the Circuit Series and your input whether by way of an email exchange or a simple review has been invaluable. An author doesn't work in a vacuum and knowing that the books are finding an audience is not only assuring, it's a powerful motivation when it comes time to stare down the blank page and write the next one.

With that in mind, I also want to thank you for your patience. I write more quickly than some, but not as quickly as others. That said, I'm pleased to announce that the third book in the series, Quantum Circuit, is now nearing completion. I wouldn't have been able to devote the time to it that I have without you the reader, and in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due, I want to express my thanks.

Keep reading. Keep writing reviews. Keep expressing your opinions. We live in a world where everybody can now be heard. Let's celebrate it.

Thanks,

Lars Guignard

3.0 out of 5 stars Lethal Circuit January 3, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Michael Chase is on a hunt for his father. He was told his father had died about 6 months ago, but with no body and no evidence, it was pretty hard to believe. So when he's told that his father is still alive somewhere in China, he's determined to find him, whatever the cost. Upon his arrival in Asia, he learns his father worked for the CIA and was deeply involved in a case involving a Nazi-related aircraft.

Meanwhile, across the Pacific Ocean, scientists are tracking a satellite that has been launched into space, has spiraled out of control, and is now heading directly for America's West Coast.

How are these two things related? And how does Michael Chase find his father and save millions of people in California without getting himself killed? He meets up with Kate Shaw, another agent on a mission and together they work to uncover some of his father's secrets. But she's not the only one lending Michael Chase a helping hand.

I'll admit, when I first began reading Lethal Circuit, I had trouble getting into it. I couldn't keep track of all the characters that were so suddenly introduced -- many of them with Chinese and Japanese names. I had trouble determining who was "good" and who was "bad," and I didn't understand how the two seemingly separate plots were connected. Not to mention, the beginning felt like any thriller I'd ever read before. Nothing new here.

But as the story continued, the relationship between Michael and Kate grows stronger, and they become closer to locating the Nazi aircraft. That's when I couldn't put the book down. In retrospect, I realize that my frustrations with keeping track of who was a "good" and who was "bad" were not accidental. That was the point of the story -- to keep the reader guessing, questioning who to trust.

1.0 out of 5 stars Improbable plot, comic-book writing style June 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Actually, an impossible plot. I hate to be a spoil sport, but this is the most juvenile writing I have ever experienced in what is purported to be an adult book (I think).

If CIA agents behaved this way, I despair for our nation. One has to suspend disbelief entirely to wade through this potboiler. All sorts of inaccuracies (just one: Mobi "looks at the Colonel's chevrons." Enlisted non-coms wear chevrons, not officers). And the entire cold fusion reactor idea is as improbable as the infamous attempt not so long ago to convince scientists that cold fusion was successfully accomplished in a lab.

The characters perform all sorts of superhuman stunts to escape from the bad guys, the dialog is totally silly and the entire thing (as far as I got) was unbelievable.

Aside from the plot, the prose is so childish, a little than half way through I had to quit and delete it from my Kindle.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lee Child should cringe August 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
As an "inhaler" of all Lee Child / Jack Reacher books, anxiously awaiting the next installment in September, I picked up this book from the Prime Lending library. All because of the "Lethal Circuit (for Robert Ludlum and Lee Child fans #1) by Lars Guignard" teaser inserted by Amazon. Thankfully, I didn't buy it. First of all it's the length of a long short story. The writing is OK, but the story line is beyond absurd and the "clues" leading our hero from step to step in the discovery process are utterly unbelievable - both while you are reading and again when reviewing upon completion. This should be categorized "fantasy" ... or perhaps "avoid".

1.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous Plot November 16, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was pulled in by the Fans of Robert Ludlum will like this book. I know that this is fiction and I usually don't mind plot lines that are bordering on fantasy, but the plot lines in this book where pretty much ridiculous. It got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore and about half way through the book I decided to stop wasting my time. I have only stopped reading a book in the middle a couple of times and this is one of those times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rockin' fast-paced thriller!!! August 31, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Strap yourself in for a wild ride as backpacker Michael Chase gets caught up in the world of spies and secret agents. The action is pretty much non-stop and will keep you turning the pages (or if you read it on a Kindle like me, clicking on the "next page" arrow) relentlessly - you will not be able to let it go until you read to the very last page. The twists and turns keep coming as our fearless hero goes from adventure to adventure on the trail of his lost father, but gets redirected to a higher purpose, drawing in spy agencies, triads, and secret societies, all competing to locate lost Nazi technology buried in the ground for 60 years. This highly-branded "junior Bond" novel refreshingly updates the genre - Ian Flemming would be proud.

1.0 out of 5 stars I hate cliff-hangers! June 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was good until the end, when it left a lot of loose ends that I assume are answered in the next book. If an author creates interesting characters, people will want to read the next book (like Dan Brown in the Da Vinci Code). I do not want to be forced to read another book to find out what happens in the first book. I do not recommend this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absurd! November 6, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What an absurd attempt. From the all-too-predictable last-minute rescues to the underlying deception laid on the reader, this book is terrible and not even close to being a real spy/mystery thriller. I checked it out via Amazon's Lending Library and find that I have wasted the month's selection on this stupid thing. Save your time!

-ps I wouldn't want to be in the same room with the author when he does the things to a Glock pistol that his character did in the book
