Book Description

A decadent day of poolside sunbathing turns into a scandalous night—culminating in murder. By morning, the police are pounding on Sunny McCloskey's door, and she is once again thrust into the center of a tense investigationinvolving a hedge-fund billionaire with a spectacular estate in California's Napa Valley. Steeped in good food, great wine, and plenty of summer heat, Lethal Vintage offers a fascinating look at what goes on in those mansions above the vines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth waiting for, leaves me hungry for more! May 26, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
It was a long wait for the latest Sunny McCoskey Napa Valley Mystery, but Lethal Vintage turned out to be well worth the wait. Nadia Gordon has tightened up the writing, packing more characterization, plot, and context into this novel. It's really the best of the series (a nice change from the run-of-the mill series, which tend to decline in quality as they progress).
I am looking forward to the next one!

Warning: reading this book WILL make you hungry. And thirsty for a glass of a luscious red wine or, if it's morning, a splash of cab in your coffee!

5.0 out of 5 stars Nadia Gordon Batting 1000 May 10, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Nadia Gordon has again exceeded expectations for her richly written characters, producing a plot that is unlikely to be ferreted out early, and for exposing the vapid lives of her scurilous villians. It is great to read each successive novel as she expands the character of the friends surrounding Sonny. My kitchen is alive with the aromas of attempting to replicate some of the repasts you feel like you can actually smell as you read. I have yet to take more than 24 hours to read any book in the series including Lethal Vintage. Opening this novel is just like driving up the valley with a plan to find that perfect restaurant with the perfect wine match. I hope Nadia continues to entertain and expand my love of the Napa Valley and her charismatic characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read........... September 18, 2009
Format:Hardcover
My book club had read "Death by the Glass and Sharpshooter" so when I found this book I was really excited. We loved both of these books and rated it as one of our top reads that year and "Lethal Vintage" is right up there, too. The author takes you to Napa to experience not only a mystery but what life is like in Napa Valley. I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend this book for those who like mysteries and the experience of being in a beautiful place. I've been to Napa Valley many times and loved reading about those places. Enjoy is all I can say!!

3.0 out of 5 stars so so mystery August 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
A decent mystery. Certainly can't hold a candle to Ellen Crosby's Middleburg Virginia wine murder mystery series but there is potential.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read August 8, 2012
By PJW
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is what I would call a grand summer read. I actually heard about the book on a Foodnetwork show: Giada at Home. Her bookclub had read it and she made some dishes based on meals talked about in the book. It's a fun read and a good murder mystery. I proceeded to read the other three books by this author in the Sunny McCoskey series. All very entertaining. Hope Ms. Gordon comes up with more stories for Sunny.

I had watched a recent show with Giada De Laurentiis regarding her book club and she cooked such wonderful foods as they discussed the book. I bought the book thinking it was going to be another fun mystery that included recipes. Boy was I disappointed. It was an okay book, but I probably will not purchase anymore books by this author. It just was not what I had expected. Sherry

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a grabber that you can't put down. June 7, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you are interested in different wines or how the rich live this May be the book for you.
I found it to be slow and very detailed on what people wore rather than dramatic. The heroine of the story expected someone to break into her house but didn't have a defense weapon thought out. Poor

3.0 out of 5 stars too much on food
The story line gets confusing due to the constant interjection of wine & food. While the background is in wine country, too much of the book is taken up with these too items.

Very draggy. Too much conversation that loses your attention. Not enough action. I felt that I was at one of those "who done it"mystery dinners.
