This is a GREAT book because the words flow nicely and the message is really great not only for children but for adults, as well. The illustrations are really cute, too. I highly recommend any book by P.K. Hallinan.

This is a wonderful board book. My 9 month old son loves it and I do too!! It has great art and the author has a way with words. We read it almost everyday! It is also a great present to send as a "thank you" to someone.

Lovely book with an important reminder for kids (and adults). Great illustrations with a wonderful flow to the words.

This is my new favorite book to read to my toddler! It is a wonderful, positive message, with lovely illustrations, and lovely verse. I highly recommend this book to any parent who wants to instill a grateful heart into their child, and to remind themselves daily to be thankful for all of life's blessings!

My children love this book and the How Do I Love You? book by the same author. I use this book each year in my Kindergarten Sunday School class because it helps children think of things they are thankful for that perhaps they hadn't considered before. A never fail hit.

This is my favorite book to read to our son. We read it every night. I LOVE the message, the joy and gratitude in life's simple pleasures as well as those who serve us. I will buy this book for all of my friends from now on.

If you are tired of materialism and want to help instill a sense of gratitude and thanksgiving in your little one, "Let's Be Thankful" by P. K. Hallinan is a book you should consider purchasing. Charming, colorful drawings enhance the rhymed text which extolls simple, nonmaterial things and people who are important in a child's life. The sun, ice cream, puppies, family, teachers, and fireflies are some of the things for which the children in the book express appreciation.

Although this book was published in 2004, there appear to be only two persons of color - a soldier and a little boy smiling at the book's family - depicted on the pages of the book. While I would understand this if the book had been written in an earlier time, I question why it was not more inclusive and why the publisher did not catch the omission. Further, while the vein of the text is expresses thanksgiving, the book does not thank God for creating the wonders expounded upon. Although God's presence could be inferred from the text, I feel it would have been better to address it directly. Since I believe Guidepost Company publishes books and magazines based on faith and inspirational stories, I was somewhat surprised that a direct reference to God was left out of the mix. And yes, this book would be an excellent one for Sunday School as the teacher could bring the aspect of God into the classroom through question and answer sessions. However, it still seems, to me, the concept is one that should have been included within the book.

I bought this book on a whim at one of the off-price stores, only to discover it was included in Amazon's 4 for 3 special and that Amazon's price was better. There are a number of books in this series from Candy Cane Press, a Guideposts Company, and I will be purchasing more - from Amazon - for my grandson. I recommend that others take a look at P. K. Hallinan's books for little ones they love.
